The World Series of Jackpots The World Series of Jackpots

It's obviously late in the game to be making suggestions, but I wonder how something close to the normal Jackpot structure would run, with WSOP packages up top.

With a $15 buyin awarding 3 WSOP packages for the top jackpot, you could have a structure like below (where the 2500 buyin top tier would be 3 $12,500 packages).

A benefit if this structure is that they would be attractive to more grinders than the current WSOJs. The package frequency is lower than in the current structure, but it seems the games would run more.

To avoid cannibalizing the current stakes, maybe remove the $2s and $10s (and the devil-spawn $3 WSOJs) and replace them with regular $5s and these $15 WSOJs (and keep the regular $40s).

I think what makes the WSOJ so attractive now is the "frequency" of jackpots. At $2, its once every ~16,600 games. Your proposed structure is one in every 50,000. I put frequency in quotes, because they are supposed to hit often but we still haven't seen one hit yet

Ya, for sure. The hope would be that at least three times as many games would run with the proposed structure, in which case we would see just an many jackpots (on average). I don't know the current traffic numbers in the $3s, but the $30s are going off very slow from the reports I've seen. I would expect to see a lot more run with the proposed structure since it is much more grindable and would not split the player pool nearly as much.

Player points are a spit in the ocean; even with all the rewards, you're still going to be $30K+ down at some point with a significant probability and $5K+ down at some point in most cases.

Over 2 weeks in and we haven't seen a winner yet. I would be interested to know how many games have taken off at each level.

if we bink the wsop seat can we sell it or get cash from WPN?
06-11-2015 , 06:17 AM
The package is already all cash

We deposit $12500 in your account.

What do you plan to do with the prize pool if a jackpot doesn't hit? Can you share how many games have been played so far?

+1

What prize pool?
06-16-2015 , 07:26 PM
The jackpot prize pool, the rake on these is supposed to be only 6% but if a jackpot game doesn't hit and they discontinue them it would be much much higher.
06-16-2015 , 07:32 PM
It wasn't any sort of guaranteed pool, so I would be surprised if they do anything.

These can't end soon enough, in my opinion. I'm just afraid they'll bring the format back for other promos and continue to split the pool.

I hope not but from reading previous posts that sounds like their plan. These are really terrible for players
06-17-2015 , 12:24 AM
they are holding thousands of dead money if JP doesnt hit, arent they?
06-17-2015 , 12:59 AM
These suck and should be abolished immediately (from the players standpoint). Obviously good for them. Why on earth you want to pay .30 for a $3 when it is very very unlikely to hit is beyond me. Anyone playing $3 sngs does not want to spend 5k to win a 12.k seat...that's just dumb. If players could actually win something on the pools like a normal spin, then it would be better. But this losing .30 every time? pfffffffft.

EDIT: They did take about $2.40 of the 8 I played, and I won every single won (only 2x pools).

You know its effective rake so if you won everyone they didn't take anything from you and the rake is 6% not 10%.

I was watching a bunch of these tonight and can't figure out what I'm more surprised by:

The guy who registered for a $#!+ ton of these and doesn't seem to be sitting in for any of them -- did he drop dead after registering? -- or the tables where the two players can't figure out what to do when two out of three are paid and one of them isn't there.

Wasn't me tonite but I've regged 30 and went out before. Like buying $3 scratch offs to me lol. Surprisingly enough I lose only about 1/3 of them each time
06-29-2015 , 09:36 AM
Sorry if I missed it, but curious if this has hit for anyone yet. If not, is WPN doing anything to speed up chances as main is like a little over a week away.
06-29-2015 , 09:56 AM
No hits yet.
06-29-2015 , 05:04 PM
What happens to all the money if this don't hit by WSOP? Do they just continue these until the reserve is gone shipping the $12.5k to the very lucky lottery winners accordingly or what?
06-29-2015 , 05:15 PM
It goes to the site. This is commonly misunderstood. Each game is it's own wager. You hit, you win a package. You don't, the site gets 1 buyin rake (except when you hit the 2x or 3x).

If no one hits, the site does not pay out. Simple as that.

If I knew these would have been such a fail I never would have played them at all even though I didn't pump in a ton of volume so it's not that costly for me compared to a lot of others.

I hope the network does the right thing and don't just take these games down until the reserve is low.

Reserve?
