hello,

i was curious how the straddle option worked at the cash tables, in terms of position and such. i clicked it whilst in mid position once, and it didn't do anything

thanks

You can only straddle when you're UTG, at least on WPN and most (if not all) sites with a straddle option.

And its also a dead giveaway that you are the fish at the table. None of the 100s of cash game regs on this nit infested network would ever dare put on a straddle.

That would be pretty sick if they made tables where everyone straddled, would definitely change the dynamics of the game and would play more like an ante/deep table.

Not really, I know of few TOP regs who straddle

When I read this, I thought "This could get so meta."

Well, the only time it occurs, and to which I assume the other guy is referring to, is 3-handed PLO. Maybe 3-handed NLHE if you're feeling frisky. (Heads up straddle would be profitable but isn't allowed.)

It's actually not an easy question whether or not straddle VS no straddle is game-theory optimal at 3-handed PLO, or whether it might be good vs some opponents or at some stack-sizes. But it is very annoying, because if you want to straddle every button you need to click the straddle button in advance every single time.

I would guess that straddle is good for the SB and bad for the BB though, 3 handed.

As far as people straddling in 4+ handed games to pretend they're a fish? Probably very rare, and not particularly effective.

HAHA actually a true statement.

wait a minute...so if ive just won 200 bb at a 1/2 game, and i find that most people are playing very tight, straddling to get more action going on makes me a fisH? interesting theory...

there's the same thing that happens in the live game i play in the city lately, but they call it the "rock," an automatic $5 dollar straddle at 1/2

No strat please! Straddle is just good for the game overall and bumps up the overall action. 3max or 6max either way. I advocate more people start straddling

hey man, when your opponent holds 64, and you hold 99, and the flop is 6 4 4, and then the turn is a 9, is that, a good card?
