Phone calls from Black Chip ? Phone calls from Black Chip ?

12-14-2015 , 04:30 PM
I just received a PHONE call from someone claiming to represent BCP, trying to sell me on the benefits of making a deposit/playing on BCP.

1) Anyone else getting these calls ?

2) How do I make them stop ?

I am well aware of how to make a deposit, and if I decide to do so, will.

Really don't need another telemarketing call about the subject.

1) Not me.

2) Like with any telemarketer, tell them to take you off the call list.

1) Yes. Several.
2) As soon as I started playing again, they stopped.

They won

Thanks.

The # comes up as LL Contact CTR on your caller ID

Isn't telemarketing the definition of spam?

I just felt this was very unusual for an OnLine Poker Site.

1st off, the # they called had already been registered on the Do Not Call Registry. (and for good reason, there is an elderly person living here that we don't want bothered by such nonsense. - as if any one should need to explain such things)

-although it comes as no surprise to STILL get a Telemarketing Call to this #, as many Telemarketing Firms seem to just ignore that list

I equated it to AS-IF my local B&M room were to call my house after not seeing me for a while.......asking where I had been, and pitching me on the idea of coming back to put more money in play.

Ya know......like a wee bit unacceptable

I know dam well where and how to deposit money if I want to play Poker.

Don't need some kid Telemarketing my house !

Anyways, this is the web site of the company who's name appeared on the caller ID.

http://www.llcontactcenter.com/

Apparently not even real BCP employees. (again, not a surprise....just a WTF ?!?!)

The Do Not Call registry is a US registry, a non-US entity won't consult it or perhaps not even have access to it (and like you said, not care).

It's a pretty aggressive marketing tactic. It's not common in the industry and I would think most players would be put off by it. I sure would be. I'm also on the DNC registry and when I get a solicitation call I nicely tell them I don't take phone solicitations and please take me off their call list. In most cases that does the trick. If you do this and continue to get calls then I'd call their support line and talk to a service manager.

I agree that these unsolicited phone calls could at best be considered inconsiderate, and at worst be considered predatory. If a player is really interested, they'll read your email. A phone call is just an annoyance for the vast majority of players.

It seems to be a more common practice with online casinos than poker rooms, and is somewhat correlated with the site in question being of questionable reputation and treatment of their players. Most of the best, most trusted sites don't engage in practices like these.

ACR should consider if this is really the sort of site they want to be.

I have got a couplephone calls but never to get me to deposit. The first one pissed me off. He called to welcome me to the poker than made fun of my user name.

The last one I got he called me after a 14 hour session and woke me up just to laugh again. He said I am giving you 25 dollars and all I had to do is login. I just deposited 1500 the week before. Not sure why I got the money. Pretty sure it was for posting on here but who knows. The guy was laughing.

Needless to say these phone calls are bad but wpn it is pretty standard as they only care bout the money.

They keep calling me and asking if I've seen Mike Hunt and then hanging up. It's really starting to piss me off. Could you please get them to stop?

edit: Sorry, my mistake. It was the Trump campaign calling.

I've received two of these calls, i keep telling them if they want me to get back on the site and play with my $5-6k i withdrew last month then they need to give me a substantial free credit like ACR did a few months back so i know they are serious and can compete with Bovada cause their software is so tilting and its super reg infested. Really no desire to play there, unless like i said they do something extra special for me.

The Trump campaign was calling me too. They must have found Amanda Huggenkis if they're looking for Mike now.
