Pretty much getting screwed over

I am still waiting on refunds from last week
I was told to wait after this event was over as they were busy... Guess they will be even busier

So funny since when is trying good enough or all of you from the blue ribbon gen

I say they pull the plug and get their **** straight
I for one am sick if being a free beta tester for them heck actually paying to test for them
I can see why someone would be this upset. But, personally, I see this as a step in the right direction. Sure i didn't sign up to be a "free beta tester" as you put it, but there were some really good gtds. More players than there have been in who knows how long, and it seems they will rectify the situation monetarily.

The last part is the most important. i have dealt with many sites pre and post black Friday. WPN is second only to pstars when it comes to support of the players. I was recently playing on a regulated site in the US and i cant even begin to explain how terrible the customer support is. Major issues that resulted in hundreds possibly thousands of mine to be lost via disconnects/location issues and never did they even think about compensating me despite months of back and forth emails. They wouldn't even admit blame for Christ's sake. So, maybe i am just jaded and happy to have somewhere that is attempting to better online poker through a large series like this.

Sure, it wasn't a success. But it is a step in the right direction. Some people don't give a **** about a step in the right direction and just want their money back which is understandable. As for myself, I am trying to look at the bigger picture. If they can fix the issues and run something similar in the future i believe it is a net positive.

I see your point
I just tend to lean towards this was not a step in right direction
More five back.. I guess you gotta go backwards to go forwards sometimes
I think the chance they had to move forward was such a fail that it will have a more negative impact then positive towards the right direction

The right direction to me heck for years on here would be stop all this gimmick promo bs stop trying to have the biggest usa event and just invest in some software or whatever else to ensure a fair game and smooth expeirence for the user

That and that alone will be the step forward then and only then move forward with other ideas or market strategies

Cool seeing Doyle and his 2004 account created on profile though

Any of the new players on here just don't understand that these issues are common nature on here always have been

sng traffic is getting better than bv slowly bro

fri eve u could get 12-15 9man sngs running same time $5s-30s
(maybe more, but that is nuff for me)

bv's 4 cap , and barely any 9mans over $10 cant beat that though

traffic has been increasing past month at an unreal rate

wpn is on the up.. just a few growing pains.. which is fine

For those that think yesterday had nothing to do with hackers or whatever and was because of traffic, Im not saying you are wrong, because you might right. I will just state that the 0.11 tourney that runs every night had over 1000 runners each of the previous 2 nights with no issues whatsoever. Now I know that all 1000 were not playing at the same time, but just something to think about

I def think it was an attack on the site. Makes sense they attacked the site the whole week then stopped for 2 days so that they ran the million. The ceo even said that right when the tourny started problems started so def is an attack on the site.
12-15-2014 , 08:55 PM
Hopefully WPN finds a way to fix this and not just think when the hackers are gone they won't be coming back otherwise this will be a repeat process a bit over 2 months from now when they try to run the 1 million tournament again.

Playing the $100GTD at the moment.
Site is running smooth, closing in on 600 entries.

Guess the DOS attacks are only against the higher profile events ?
12-15-2014 , 10:00 PM
DDOS doesn't target an event it targets a site - but it would make sense to time DDOS attacks for the highest traffic times.
12-15-2014 , 10:57 PM
1,155 entries in tonight's (Monday night 7:15pm- current) event.......smooth as silk....no lags....or glitches....
12-15-2014 , 11:09 PM
Hopefully the site is back on track...
12-16-2014 , 04:12 AM
The reason why I think it was the site and not hackers is a DDOS attack will take the whole site down for a very short amount of time and then when it is up everything will run smooth. The fact that their was vary degrees of connection strength reported counters this theory.

On the two Sundays this happened there where significantly more people on the site. Those where the only two days effected if I recall. Both days had more unique players playing. (first Sunday also had the beast and sng crush and other huge satellites)

We have a site that has had problems with crashes during high traffic situations. IIRC one of there bigger tourneys for a series was cancelled. Search the thread for words like refund, crash, down and you will see a history of this happening.

For me it seems more logical that this is just one of many network hiccups that has happened and not a hacker deciding to plan an attack only when the site has extra traffic.

last night ran smooth .. plenty of sng action $5s-$50s
12-16-2014 , 12:42 PM
all people in my cash games disconnecting, everyone sitting out
12-16-2014 , 12:45 PM
They need to do something cause I could go X-mas shopping instead of sitting here waiting for a decision to be made
12-16-2014 , 12:46 PM
Do we really need yet another thread? We have disconnect/lag threads, discussion on the million threads, individual spasm threads...I think we have it covered, sir.
12-16-2014 , 12:47 PM
Yeah cash games are basically down now, it's weird. Not even peak traffic time.
12-16-2014 , 12:50 PM
I played a few cash hands this am and it was fine, but yes, I see what your saying now. MANY sitting out. (presume disconnected)
