Blatant collusion? Blatant collusion?

09-06-2015 , 07:46 PM
This is not blatant collusion but it could be construed as such. I have $100 on ACR and was looking to put more on so I can play $25-$100 6m. Then I see a couple of $25nl tables right now that have somebody named "Frank Underwood" and then another player, at the same table, name "ClaireUnderwood". Despite being a big fan of HoC, I'm not comfortable sitting with what looks like blatant collusion. These guys are obviously at the very least, friends and at the very worst, lol'ing at ACR and blatantly colluding. **** putting my money on a site where people are going to be so blatant in softplaying each other. Bovada can keep my business.

Do I actually think they're colluding? No. Only because Frank is on like 15 tables and Claire is on 2. But they're definitely going to be softplaying each other and hole card sharing in big pots they're in.

I don't think that they are colluding.. For someone who is 15 tabling to collude with someone who is 2 tabling is both -EV and probably a hassle overall..

And to say they are definitely softplaying because both names have Underwood in them...?

Claire and Frank are a married couple on House of Cards. Not hard to figure out there's a connection with that.

You're going to have a hard time finding a site that doesn't allowed related people to play on the same site or tables. If they are colluding, that's a problem. But if the aren't, it's not a problem.

I see how at first glance one may think they're connected, but what evidence you provided seems to imply they aren't colluding so I'm not sure what the problem is.

If someone made a username "Boneyazhell" and started playing MTTs would you think we're colluding because our handles having something in common? I don't really see the problem here.

At Stars me and my wife were forbidden to play anything but MTTs together. Same goes for Bovada now that we're forced to play away from Stars. Not sure of any others but I'd be shocked if this isn't the industry standard.

This is any standard for any reputable poker site. But we are not talking about collusion here I don't think. Many players make gag names to get into the heads of their opponents.

On Stars even a neighbor and I weren't allowed to play at the same cash game tables. In the US, though, that isn't the norm.

So a guy comes in here asking about possible collusion, not even mentioning his playing. You come in later and call the guy who he asked about a fish and for us not to "tap the glass." You realize you did more for calling him a fish than anyone else, right? I mean, if you want the guy to know you think he is a fish, you just did it. It's kind of sad that you called out a fish by his name, as the fish likely didn't want to know that he was a fish. I guess asking about collusion is much closer to calling Frank Underwood a fish than actually calling him a fish is.

Hey guys,

Dal pointed me to this thread and just wanted to clarify for the OP (and anyone else); I'm FrankUnderwood and my roommate is Claire.

As previously mentioned I multitable across many limits and there may be/have been times where I (or my roommate) may accidently sit at the same tables (ACR prohibits the same IP from sitting at the table but for some reason there are times their filter must not work because on a few occasions I have realized we are sitting at the same table (Im sure the rep/any ACR tech member can verify we are playing from the same IP and were not trying to circumvent in any way).

As for soft play, again, any time spent at the same table was probably very short in nature as one of us will immediately leave the table when we notice it (again can be verified by WPN if they'd like).

I'm a reputable member here and wouldn't do anything silly to jeopardize that. So yeah, just wanted to address it for yall.

OP - do you think if two players blatantly wanted to cheat they would be dumb enough to have names that similar? Use your head for a minute.

Z06,

Such level one thinking there.

That's gotta suck having to play different tables then your roomate if you play the same stakes on WPN. This place is damn near dead except for regs when it comes to multitabling.
09-22-2015 , 08:18 PM
You accididently sit at the same table as your roomate lol.
