What they probably haven't bothered to check is that Bovada's issues are even worse with more players swearing they won't come back at all, ever.
So, if they just checked on their competition (5 minutes of work), they would know that they don't even have to bother lying.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It costs gambling sites something like 10% of the money deposited just to process transactions - I've heard that number thrown around even by sites that don't serve grey markets like the U.S.
It's ridiculously expensive due to all the middle men that tend to be involved, and even worse when you need to use processors willing to serve "questionable" markets like gambling (especially for the U.S.)
Services like Wetsern Onion/Moneygrim charge insane fees even for normal person to person transfers. It's only an option for people without a better choice.
WPN wants people to use Bitcoin because it's by far the cheapest option for them. If they did the processing themselves, it could cost less than .5% fee each way, but I'd guess they still probably have someone else handle the processing for them (which may be why withdrawals are down now, if a processor decided to stop working with them.)

They might have another verification option if you look/ask them for it, the standard one historically is that they'd send like 2 very small deposits to your account (like 3 cents each), then you tell them how much the deposits were. But i'm not 100% sure on that.
