I (as a complete BTC newb) was under the impression that using two wallets in the interim from bank <> ACR would be enough to avoid unnecessary attention. Maybe this info could be merged into the instruction post at the beginning of the thread?

Also, I've made two BTC deposits via Circle>Blockchain>ACR and both went through in about half an hour or less. It honestly took me longer to set up the accounts and remember the passwords than it did to get up and playing.

Someone help me out here. I received a withdraw to block chain, and I have set up my circle.com account. How don't get the BTC form blockchain to circle? I don't see an address for my circle account to send from blocchain.Sorry my time.

Yeah, you did it right.

Now the next time you deposit/withdraw you'll just click to generate a new address in your Blockchain wallet as the one to pass thru.

You can think of those bitcoin addresses as being disposable, use them once and then discard them.

But always keep a backup of the wallet or private keys. People have sent bitcoin to old addresses by mistake, only to find they no longer can access the funds. This is especially a problem with a site like WPN which saves old addresses on their withdrawal page (they should stop doing this, it's poor security practice).

What you need:

1. An account at blockchain.com

Creating your account at blockchain is quick and easy. They will provide you with a specific link for your login.

2. An account at at bitcoin wallet like circle.com or coinbase that will link to your bank account.

I'll use circle.com as an example. Circle has no fees for transactions; Coinbase has some fees. Creating an account at Circle is also easy, but linking your account to your bank will take a few days. You'll need to provide pictures of your face and ID (very easy to do via their phone app). You'll also need to verify a couple small deposits they will make to your bank account.

Once you've completed these two steps, you're ready to use bitcoin for transactions at WPN.

You create two bitcoin accounts because it's best to use blockchain for transactions with WPN. Then use circle for transactions with blockchain. So, it looks like this:

Deposit: Bank Account -> Circle -> Blockchain -> Poker

Withdraw: Poker -> Blockchain -> Circle -> Bank Account

You may also wish to explore a Bitcoin ATM card.
This method still works for the majority of people here right?

Requested a small withdrawal as I'm getting used to bitcoins. Didn't receive any, Customer Service told me they don't do any cash outs on weekends.

Can anyone confirm that, even for bitcoins?

The stated policy on the request page is Monday thru Friday from 7AM to 11PM (ET), although I have heard of at least one going thru on the weekend. I did a late Friday request once and it showed up on Monday.

And so Circle is an exchange (where I can swap BTC for USD, and USD for BTC), and Blockchain is just a wallet, to send, store, and receive BTC.....correct ?

What are other examples of BTC/USD Exhanges ? (MT Gox was one but they are gone ? ) (Coinbase was/is one....correct ? others ?) Same question for Wallets ? Are there other good Wallets for a poker players purpose ?

Should I presume Circle & Blockchain are currently best options ?

I would also like to know more about a Bitcoin ATM card ?

I actually got it anyway a little while ago.

Gotta say so far Bitcoin withdrawals seem like the nuts.

Yep, you got it.

Yeah, Coinbase and Circle both work the same way. The only real difference is that Coinbase charges a 1% fee and Circle doesn't. But they are both the easiest and cheapest options.

There are other options for wallets and different people have different preferences... but for this purpose of just creating a new address to pass thru I still think Blockchain is a good choice.

I'm hesitant to give too many options because I don't want to overwhelm and make it more confusing than it needs to be for someone that has never used Bitcoin - but if you really want to compare different wallets you can find more info at Bitcoin.org

I'm not exactly sure what they meant by ATM card. They might have been referring to the Xapo Bitcoin debit card... but as of the last I've heard they are not able to ship those to the US.

You can search to see if there is a Bitcoin ATM in your area. Some machines only sell bitcoin, and others will buy from you and give cash. The fee is higher, usually around 5%, but it is an option if you want to buy/sell instantly.

I am currently waiting to receive a Bitcoin ATM/Debit Mastercard, site says 10-15 days for North America and I will report on it when/if it arrives, after using it. According to the website it still takes 3 days to load the actual money amount on the card, I'm hoping I'm misunderstanding that part though. Either way I guess it's still a potential option for anyone that doesn't want or have a bank account to link for withdrawal.

Aside from the wait to receive the card and for the actual money from Bitcoin conversion to load, there's also the issue with fees associated with the card vs none to very little using Circle or Coinbase. To order the card cost me 0.03 BTC/$7 and change, which they will refund if you load 5BTC, also the main displayed fees are 1% (or a minimum of 3 USD) for ATM withdrawal, Point of Sale transactions are free and a 1.5% Currency Conversion Fee, which I presume is for converting BitCoin into cash to load on the card.

After typing that out, it seems rather apparent it's far better to use a service like Circle or CoinBase to transfer money to a bank account, if possible.

Just did my first Bitcoin deposit and it is easier than it looked. My BOA bank account automatically verified and I was ready to go. Very impressed.

Just wanted to give others the heads up and hope it helps them avoid a potential similar issue.

Also, yes, I was able to withdraw $25 back to my wallet, I just left the $0.24 in the Circle account, which they will close for good at some point shortly.
Sounds like maybe a mining fee put you over the draft.

Moved a test amount from WPN to Blockchain to Circle to my bank account. Took a handful of days but no problems. When I withdrew from Circle I made sure to keep a few pennies in the account to avoid what Thinking Out Loud went through. Probably good practice moving forward from any wallet.

How noob friendly is this for withdrawals? Would I be better off requesting a cheque or eating a bunch of $$ in Western Union fees? Looking to withdraw a bit over 1k
