America's Card Room deposit attempt from NJ resident America's Card Room deposit attempt from NJ resident

Just tried to deposit a micro sum to play some sngs and they asked me to call in to verify my visa... called and they said 'can't play you are in NJ' (my friend has deposited in NJ and we know several that play there) so I ask when I am not in NJ and want to deposit do i have to keep calling you?

Him: "I don't know Maybe"
Me: "lol what does maybe mean, what does the policy say?"
Him: "You can't play in NJ"
Me: "Okay I get that but do I need to call again when i am NOT in NJ?" Just asking for future deposits on what I have to deal with...
[seriously went back and forth on this twice me staying calm]
Him: "Haha I am about to delete your account"
Me: Let me speak to a supervisor

After talking to 3 people and a 25 minute phone call I find out (am told) that they randomly 'trigger' verification calls when you try to deposit.. supervisor also has no clue

besides the cancelled tournaments and poor software I am going to have to recommend US players DO NOT deposit or use this site.

Don't get me wrong it may be good for some people and I am sure there are some good stories of untold riches here but when I checked here for reviews I saw very little to stop me from playing

I wouldn't risk playing on a site that specifically tells you that New Jersey residents aren't allowed to play on it. Regardless of who you know that does. Just gives them a reason at any point to ban you for not following the rules or regulations.

has your friend withdrawn money or just deposited?

You have regulated sites in NJ with a decent playerbase. With very little research you should have clearly seen WPN does not accept New Jersey residents now that they have regulated sites. Why in the world are you trying to play on an offshore site when you are a NEW JERSEY RESIDENT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT? They are not shady, they pay out. You do realize your not dealing with a US company but a small offshore company that has thus far held a good reputation paying out to US players. Why do people have to make these threads, it's so frustrating. It's like they expect PokerStars level service or top notch giant corporate service froma US based company from small off shore businesses. DUHHH!??

You are recommending that US players not play on WPN because you didn't get your way? You sound like a guy from Jersey. You don't seem to realize that it is New Jersey's legal threats to the offshore sites that is preventing sites like WPN, Merge, Equity and Bovada from accepting deposits. Your friends may very well have deposited before the new policy went into effect.

The tournaments were cancelled and the software is bad that has NOTHING TO DO WITH NJ

The site sucks and the moderators changing the title was a misrepresentation of my post.

SEVERAL TIMES TOURNAMENTS HAVE CRASHED WHILE I PLAYED
... in 10+ years of online poker and all the crappy sites I have played I can count on one hand how many times a tournament was cancelled due to bad software or servers

Stop trying to make this a New Jersey issue

lol QQ more.

Of course this isn't a "New Jersey" issue. It is a "UMAD" issue because clearly UMAD.

Oh, yeah it's because you couldn't deposit because you are from New Jersey... So maybe at the root of the problem it actually is New Jersery. Damn.
