i hate draven

I don't get him. Only way to max his dmg is to catch axes. But most of the time when you're trying to deal damage in this game you are chasing people. But if you are stopping/adjusting your path to catch axes it means you aren't running in a straight line while they are, so they will get away.

So what's left? A fairly underwhelming CC and a decent but not great ult. Oh, and no escapes. Yippee!

you can lead your axes by clicking towards the person youre chasing when your axe connects with the enemy and before it comes spinning back

Does the axe predict exactly where you will be if you're running in a straight line towards your opponent?

Is there no variability to where it lands?

nope you can lead it straight if you're chasing someone you just need to click accurately, thats why he's high skill cap

to be fair ive had all of 30 minutes experience playing as draven, but from what i've seen//read//tried thats how it works

Played a ton of dota back in college ~4 years ago but really haven't played these types of games since then. Looking to get into dota2/lol/hon and was wondering which of the three are currently (and will probably?) be most popular in the future? I assume the gameplay will all be more or less foreign to me and all three seem to have good reviews, so I don't mind which one I get into.

I know this is the LoL thread but not sure where else to get opinions. I really like watching livestreams and commentaries since starcraft2, which is the reason I'm looking for the most popular of the three. Kind of want to follow a scene and looking for the most longevity.

I think lol is the most popular right now and will be for a while, there are always streams to watch too.

I know they have had bad sales recently but I think this week might just be the worst one...

LoL is definitely the most popular game right now, hon is dead and only time will tell for dota 2. There are a lot of streams and tournies and stuff for LoL, so if you're looking for a good scene I definitely think lawl is the way to go

I know those numbers are just extrapolations, but it's kind of weird that Diablo 3, (only counting up to June 2012 apparently) already has 1/4th the hours of WoW over a year.

Thought WoW was still super huge and people that play spend like 10+ hours a day on it.

bearz, LoL is probably the safest bet right now, but I'm quite confident both Dota 2 and LoL will have plenty of players for years. Just play and follow the game you enjoy more (or both).

I never really played original Dota, but my understanding is that Dota 2 is basically just Dota with new engine, so you should be somewhat familiar with it. LoL is a bit different though. You could say LoL is more simple, but imo it's mainly because they've removed a lot of stupid gimmicky mechanics like jungle stacking. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I started with LoL so it feels more natural for me, but someone who started with Dota might disagree.

Quick update. We’re writing up a full front page post about this but I want to get it out now that details are decided.

The conclusion of the playoffs will take place on Wednesday the 10th, starting at 5:00 PM Pacific Time. We’re going to be broadcasting from the same venue our World Finals are taking place, the Galen Center, and the players will be competing in a backstage area while we set up the main stage for Saturday. Players will be separated with no visibility of the opposing team. Due to the quick turnaround, we unfortunately won’t be hosting a live audience.

We'll once again be streaming in free HD on both Twitch and Own3D, with the same broadcast production features (player cams, replays, etc.). Casters will remain the same for English, and we’re determining what other languages we’ll be providing.
