Like, the SSNL stickies would be to learn basic ideas/thoughts about 6m poker.. is there an equivalent to LoL where there are links to a bunch of strategy stuff that would make me better?

That being said, there are only three things you need to do to be better than 95% of LoL players:

1) Don't die needlessly (or at all, preferably)
2) Learn how to last hit well (pros clear 75cs/10 minutes; most amateurs should aim for at least 50)
3) Pay attention to the map while playing

the champ guides with the new season are outdated on masteries but you can learn good stuff there.

Right, I got the map stuff and all that. But for example, I don't know what an ap mid is, or what justifies a good top lane person. I'm finding it hard to explain myself, but I just don't know what counters each character or whatever.

As for what counters what... that's not important until you get to ranked. And even then, it's not the most important thing.

Our last pick really wanted to kass, so he is like "well, I guess i can anivia".....

Is it just me, or is kass a huge ****ing counter to anivia?

EDIT: For solo top, his decision was to go with Teleport/Promote Nunu, with no masteries.

At your level the meta doesn't matter, just pick your best champ.

If I wanted to help a beginner I'd show them solomid guides, not mobafire guides. Mobafire guides are written by bads. I don't see any reason why anyone should visit that site.

I'm a noob, level 9, only have a limited amount of games played and haven't played a game in a couple months.

All you really need to do is:

1. Know the basic structure of the game and how it works.
2. Don't get too aggressive and chase.
3. Watch the minimap and try to know where everyone is all the time.
4. Follow one of the guides for whichever hero you are using.

Eventually you will start to pick up on how everything works together and everything will make sense. Once you start getting to know the heroes and can pick them out in a match and know what they can do (knowing their spells and abilities), then you can start thinking about the meta game.

Morgana is pretty sweet for a newbie.

oh yea I had a lot of fun with ori when she was free should pick her up now with the buff. Irelia seems pretty cool too. Was also thinking of getting another rune page and getting AS runes for junglers but they're pretty expensive

yeah the game posted over was during the nutso lag, was a bit interesting despite the insane people not knowing anaything about the game. What level do I have to get to for people to have read a single line about the game? or even knowing english so they dont just run right into baits at level 1 and feed

You have a hidden match making rating. It's hard to say when it will happen, but it's gradual and fairly effective at getting you where you should be. level doesn't really mean anything, i see lvl 30's all the tiem that are mind blowingly bad... *cough* snowden *cough*

Good, I thought I was going crazy since 3 people on my team and 2 on the other team said Anivia would win the lane.

Anivia also said she would lane top, and "Kass is mid, so whats the problem?". I guess they don't grasp that people can move around the map during laning.
