I personally would just call after the first draw, because villain too often has a badugi here. If he discards 1 on the second draw, your A35 may be good. But it depends on villain's aggression level.

yeah raise after second draw. he's never got a strong badugi coz he didnt 3bet after 1st draw, plus he went 2->pat, so ur J5 is probably ahead of his badugi about 60% of the times. Add the dead money u get when the other guys fold their weaker 3carders and it becomes an easy raise imo

Thanks

Looking at it now, it definitely does look like I should be raising after the second draw. Standard I guess?

You could raise here, but the above reasoning is wrong.

First, let's assume villain does indeed have a badugi and he didn't play an utter trash 2-card (let's say he played 2 wheel cards, but the numbers would be the same for anything up to a ten high 2-card).

Then his badugi actually is T-high or better 51% of the time. So no, you aren't probably ahead!!!

If you would be heads-up, you would always call. Raising makes you miss a bet when you are ahead. Villain will fold his K/Q/J high badugis to a raise, where he might pay another bet after 3rd draw.

Only because the pot is multi-way with people still drawing, raising starts to make sense.
