Hand pretty much speaks for itself, I suppose. I tend to stick to NLHE and PLO, so I'm the first to admit I'm kind of a Limit TD newb. I read about half the chapter in SS2 on 2-7, so I have a basic idea of how to approach the game, but I'm FAR from an expert. I'm just curious about everything but 4th street betting action. I realize now that a call is by far the better play over a raise. I had seen the guy bluff with air, and just generally play horribly, so I wasn't folding to save a few chips, especially at this stage of the tournament. My main questions are, when dealt a 97-low, is it a pat hand against an aggro opponent? What about a station? Or are we ditching the 9 and trying for an 8 or 7 low? Idk. Please let me know what you think.

Too great a draw with 7532 to not break it and draw 1.......

That tourney gave me a headache........blinds went way to fast and had a hard time playing with complete idiots to the game......no offense.

Ranges were WAYYYY different to the cash games and TDL tourneys that I normally play.

You are like a 65% favorite to catch a 9 or better again, and the majority of that time you will have a much stronger hand, as Hanndy said you should always be drawing 1 pre.

River play is a disaster, I don't care that you are new to the game this is like theory of poker stuff here that would apply to any game we could make up with betting. You have seen villain bluff a lot, you have a weak hand that can catch a bluff, the big shiny call button should be singing "click me baby"!

No argument here. Ur absolutely right, ofc. Idk if it was a tilt raise or what, but u know how u make a move like that and the regret over it sets in immediately? This was one of those times. How do u go about figuring out I'm 65% pre-draw? Is there a 2-7 calculator somewhere? Or is this just experience talking? Also, is he ever correct to proceed in this fashion w/effective stacks & other details being what they were? Thx guys.

You could figure it out in a longhanded fashion (probably easiest to do 1-P(don't make a 9 or better)) or use the troutulator.

Pretty sure that stat is in SS2 somewhere, that's where I remember it from anyway. His play is fine assuming he had a solid draw.

Really?!?! Not arguing. I'm just genuinely shocked that it's correct to limp from the HJ, call a raise from the CO, and be willing to play for like 66% of your stack when you need to draw 3 at the first draw. (Sorry if my lingo is off, here.) He improves by one card after the first draw, and then another card comes on the second draw, and he's still calling at the third draw when he needs to hit another card. The likelihood of him hitting something better than whatever my pat hand (pre-draw) range is seems pretty low. If it were me, I would almost have to have exactly 32 to start, and then catch a 4, and then a 5 or a 7 in order to continue. Even then, I don't think I would because of the likelihood that anywhere along the line, there are sooooo many cards that screw us up. Again, I don't play TD much, but I do intend to one day get around to it. This has all helped. Thanks, guys.

Edit: Gotta read that chapter in SS2 through all the way now.

Oops sorry I totally forgot the actual hand action and just remembered the turn/river stuff mostly. I thought you were asking if he was supposed to fold somewhere postdraw which would probably be a no if his draw was legit, but yeah his limp/draw 3 was terrible.

Ok, cool. So, at least this game isn't a TOTAL effin' mystery to me. lol I was like, "Wow. If he played this hand correctly, I have...NO IDEA what I'm doing and I should just never, ever play 2-7 TD again."
