Just wanted some general thoughts on this hand. On one hand, going from 2 to pat puts me in a pretty wide range, therefore he could be raising pretty light here. On the other hand, just calling the raise and patting reps a weak pat hand that's surely going to get paid off OTR(of course, in that case, I should have c/r flop). That's not why I did it(called instead of 3betting), but it was an afterthought.

Merge $0.50/$1 Limit 2-7 Lowball - 2 players
Wombat Poker Hand Converter 0.2

Hero (BB): $32.72
IiYyHh (SB/BTN): $4.45

Pre Draw: ($0.75)
Hand: 6 9 8 2 K
IiYyHh raises to $1, Hero calls $0.50

First Draw: ($2) (2 players)
Hero draws 2, IiYyHh draws 3
Hand: 6 Q 8 2 8
Hero checks, IiYyHh checks

Second Draw: ($2) (2 players)
Hero draws 2, IiYyHh draws 2
Hand: 6 5 3 2 8
Hero bets $1, IiYyHh raises to $2, Hero calls $1

Third Draw: ($6) (2 players)
Hero stands pat, IiYyHh draws 1
Hand: 6 5 3 2 8
Hero bets $1, IiYyHh calls $1

3b all day, twice on sunday and once more for every day you've played poker! i 3b all 8's there and some T's as a semibluff c/r'ing would be a fine play also.

You could sure get some value out of me by 3-betting here.

Edit: I promise I am not just copying whatever journeyman says all day and pretending it's what I would've done.

Against someone that short I think Im 3-betting pre. And then try and get it in on the turn for sure.

I usually just pick a random line, and then I'm either right or wrong, so it's 50/50 I get the correct answer anyway.

3 bet this usually and check/cry call down if capped. What I don't about your line is...he can play the river pretty well and you're going to be trapped for 2 bets a lot of the time he raises the river barring him being a spewtard.

My MO for people that play hands the way you did on the river is usually raise #8 or better without a nitty read. That means it's about breakeven for you to call a river raise vs. ppl like me. But vs. typical HU opponents, I still think it's a call.

This almost certainly isn't a call in any situation, but against someone this short you should be jamming the turn with almost 100% confidence. People who let themselves get this short will be more than happy to get the remaining 45c in their stack with a 1c, some of which you have drawing dead. Against the others, you are a huge equity favourite. And there are plenty of worse hands he will cap and pat.

Just for the BB math, what are the chances of him making a better pat hand from a strong 2c range?

Good catch gus...easy jam here.

And the math is about ~4% via twodimes

Credit to Bjornar for first noticing the shortness of V's stack, I didn't notice at first either.
