Hi all,

I was in a lame 5/5 plo main game and decided to head over to the $100/$200 mixed game. We are playing 2-7 single. Blinds are $50/$100 with the BB posting everyone’s ante ($150).

CO pro opens $400 and hero has a nice single-draw hand in 2457K (no suits matter). Hero bought in short and has $1500 in front of him. Is this a rip pre? ( $1500 cap.) And if so, do I draw one or stand pat?

Hero played it passively and called, allowing the SB to come along. We all draw 1 and SB caps it after the draw. We draw a pair (2) and CO folds. Hero?

Thanks,
DT

I think a jam pre is normal... especially if you are short, and game is capped pre which is super important to mention and decision.

River.. ? Idk yolo

Clear shove and draw for a 15bb cap. You're pushing equity and sometimes winning it right away.

Is that standard to cap at 15 big blinds?

No, its super dumb. That said if a "pro" is gonna open to 4x maybe its fine

So don't 3! and what about his sizing? What would a more appropriate opening size be in this game? Thanks!

Linde's book chapter on 2-7NL is based on a 40BB cap as I recall.

It's super-clear against this open and would be good against most sizes IMO for only 15bb. It simply pushes equity and neutralizes position.

I was saying the structure is super dumb not the shove. A better open size would be smaller than that lol
