In the heads-up tournament matches I've seen or been in, the average showdown hand is a weak T or J.

If play is weak/passive you will tend to see a lot of limp/draw 2-draw 1/check-check and the average hand is even worse.

At this point it's really important to be paying attention to every single thing your opponent does, KCL heads up is more read-intensive than any other game imo. Even NLH is pretty automatic compared to KCL. If you can get a good sense of your opponent's range, and your opponent is willing to play small pots, it's game over and you win. If he's not willing to play small pots, force him to go all in when you're a favorite against a draw (and his actions suggest he will be drawing, obv) and let the chips fall where they may. Anyone who wants to play big pots is going to give you a lot of opportunities to get it in with a pretty good edge.
