and the story get more nonsensical. Guy on the screen can't possibly be Rowan's look alike from last week and not only that but the other guy wasn't even mentioned this week. Though, Bryan slapping Rowan was hilarious. Not shown but Bryan slapped him 5+ times.

Giving the fiend a title shot, good or bad?

Seems awful to me.

I just stumbled across why you made that post which I thought was very odd. It's obviously a terrible idea. He can't win it. He shouldn't lose already. What an odd way to book him. It's clear what they're doing though and I guess he could win it but it's baffling. What they're doing: AEW first show 10/2, Bray vs. champ @ HiaC is the following Sunday so build for that on Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday on the NXT show.

Cesaro vs Miz...they both can't possibly lose, could they?

Three hours and the only highlight seemed to be about a minute of Bray with the Vince puppet again.

I missed the first 1.5 hours but that stuff w/Ricochet and Joe was some of the worst stuff this year.

Highlight was that jobber going 20 feet in the air for the Viking People.

Wonder what made Vince, who usually has absolutely no interest in tag teams from NXT, actually seem to take an interest in the these guys when teams like AoP, Sanity and others just seem to quickly disappear.

Can't be that interested after that booking in the gauntlet match last week. AoP Akam has a tear of something and they'll be back eventually, probably.

Ah, I thought I had seen AoP wandering around those 24/7 scrums. I guess it was just one of them then.

Does anyone remember the Sting/Luger angle WCW ran back just before the NWO, where Lugar was kind of a heel, but he and Sting were still friends? I'd like to see them do something like that with Sasha and Bailey for a while.

It's kind of what they're doing with MJF and Cody in AEW atm. It's a fun dynamic so I'd like to see it as well. As is I predict Sasha lays out Bailey and Bailey costs Sasha the title match at CoC.

edit: reflecting more on this I think that's unlikely to happen and just what I want to see happen

But now it seems like Becky is the only babyface female of any consequence on the entire roster. I wonder if they're setting up a scenario where "Ronnie" returns to side with Becky.

You bring up a very good point. Imagine if they kept Asuka and Kairi hot as faces . I can't even imagine Alexa turning face. Nikki can but the Alexa/Nikki pairing hasn't come close to running its course yet.

The search for it took me a while. And admittedly conjured up a lot of nostalgia for the MNW thread as I scrolled through a bunch of stuff. That **** is a lot of work, but I should find a way to barrel through at least through the Montreal Screwjob.

It depends. If they have the fiend job its horrendous. If they hotshot the belt on him I think it's actually great they they are hotshotting an act that is super hot to the top of the card where he has potentially a ton of new interesting feud.

I don't like Wyatt as a wrestler but this character seems to absolutely take full advantage of his strengths while limiting his weaknesses. Mr Roger's bray >>>>> spooky swampbilly bray

-Opening with a contract signing is always classic stuff. How come some matches require contracts and others don't?
-AJ gave arguably promo of the year- great stuff.
-Club attacking Cedric has potential. If they're just a dominant heel stable that would be a really good thing. They need to be who Braun/Seth drop the tag titles to.
-They really just ran back Lacey over Natalya again and thought no one would notice?
-Becky promo, WOOF. How many people are "little weirdo's" to her? At least she's actually taller than Sasha who btw totally crushed it on the mic. Looked great too. Hopefully Sasha goes over, Becky's run has been over for awhile now.
-Corbin/Alexander was good, I'm glad Corbin went over and they did so keeping Cedric strong. They clearly have a plan for him but, as sad as it is, Corbin is one of the top heels in the company atm.
-The Joe/Ricochet ending was stupid. But the Corbin/Corey Graves/ref segment actually was decently well done. Corbin reacted exactly how he should. I just wish it was someone in management delivering the news, there's a chance to build a storyline there and instead they just had some no name ref acting all smug for no reason.
-Miz over Cesaro huh, so much for Cesaro getting that much needed momentum. They really hate him.
-How bout Bayley being able to single handedly take out Alexa and Nikki and then failing to get to Becky for the tag
-OMG the turn! Best ending to a Raw in so long. And they actually foreshadowed it pretty well with Bayley being frustrated at not being asked a question about herself in the pre-match interview- her feeling under appreciated is very believable and sort of unleashes her. Well done.

9/10 show (adjusted for today's standards obv)

Good show. Sasha was great tonight and I think they're nailing what her heel presentation should be. Timing of the Bayley turn is super weird with her feuding with extreme heel Charlotte. I guess they could be planning to align Charlotte/Becky again but Charlotte is an atrocious babyface and I can't see that working after the way they booked her leading to Mania. Most likely it's setting up for Sasha taking the belt off Becky in a highly protected fashion via Bayley interference.

My only real concern with the turn is that Sasha was actually succeeding at being an unlikable heel, but adding Bayley to the mix might make it a cool thing that fans get into and cheer. I generally trust Becky's ability to stay over with the crowd though (except they were dead during the main event which was kind of concerning/weird).

Looks like they got some boos after the show went off the air which is promising:

The thing about Becky is they really nerfed what made her cool. She got popular and stopped doing all the cool tweener stuff that made the fans get behind her in the first place and now is back to being her generic Irish babyface character who cuts meh promos on the reg.

That isn't really true, though. She was aggressive (to the point of being heelish) in her feud with Natalya and her promo a couple weeks ago on Sasha was phenomenal imo -- talking about this being a cat and mouse game and how she's going to hunt Sasha down. The feud with Lacey was kind of bad but I think she's done what she can with the opponents she's had to work with. I do think they're having her get her ass kicked too much though.

People also forget that she got really over as the white meat babyface, to the point that the entire arena was clamoring for her to win at that Summerslam where they turned her. Obviously some fans will get sick of anything and cheer for the new cool thing but her staying power as a face on the main roster is pretty impressive.

I will agree that she really hasn't been given much interesting to do with her first post mania feuds were a never ending Lacey feud and a Natalya feud. I'd also like to mention that I've never been the biggest Becky mark as I just dont like her promos much especially when she panders to the crowd and would prefer her to be a brash tough egotistical person who happens to get run up against pure heels.

It's also probably a bit of recency bias because she SUUUUUCKED tonight and got styled on by Sasha. Bit I definately think she's cooled off a ton since her peak pre-wrestlemania.

I really really hope they dont turn Charlitte. She should always be a heel and in the event you run her against a heel then it should be a heel/heel feud.

I'm not a big fan of the "little weirdo" stuff, which had gone away for awhile until tonight. I feel like she shines more in backstage/interview promos than cutting them in front of the crowd, but I always like her work in general obv. I typically pride myself on not being an uncritical fanboy but Becky might be an exception.

By the way, now that the women's division has like zero faces, it would be a great time to start up a Kairi Sane push.
