is there anyone Steph won't bury?

It's like Stephanie absorbed 2005 Triple H Kirby style and took his burying powers

Has AJ ever played this kind of a heel before? They tried to make him into Little Naitch in Fortune. He did the silent badass for a while in TNA. Was also the comedy heel in Angle's group. And he was also Vince Russo's lackey even when he was TNA champ at one time. Don't ever remember him playing a heel like this.

He was this character for most of his run in NJPW afaik

Okay, I didn't see much of NJPW run. But in TNA he always seemed to subservient to someone as a heel.

Yeah, he was the top heel in NJPW for quite a while. He was decent but I never liked the interference in NJPW main events. Ruined many great main events and that's one thing that's always been better than WWE (clean finishes in main events). Coincidentally (or maybe not), I stopped watching NJPW as much when he won the belt.

Owens is great but is a bit of a looter in a riot when compared to the chaff around him these days. I'd say Enzo is a good 2 levels above Owens.

Owens and Enzo are completely different mic workers so it is hard to compare. Owens is a natural smart ass that seems like a real but very witty person. Enzo is reminiscent of an 80s larger than life wrestling character. He even seems coked up.

Enzo was literally naming different types of cheese last week and the crowd reacted better to that than any other segment last week. I'd like to see Owens try to pull that off.

Just further illustrates the different styles. The crowd sat silently when Jake Roberts talked, as he wanted. Doesn't mean he wasn't a top shelf mic worker with elite presence.

Point taken, although its Jake is clearly better than Owens on the mic

I read somewhere (don't remember where or who said it), but somebody said something like:
"People in the wrestling business often say that a successful character is an aspect of your own personality turned up to 11. Enzo is the only guy I know that has to be turned down to get to 11."

lol that was Enzo that said that, it's from an interview on youtube.

I agree though, he definitely is great right now.

Yeah they are both great. I'm really really impressed by Enzo and big cass has done well on the mic too.

What odds would you guys put on each wrestler in The MITB match?

I'm guessing Ambrose and Owens account for all the equity unless another guy enters the fray
**WWE Raw/Smackdown Viewing Thread** Quote

Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I don't see them giving it to Ambrose since they show little inclination of actually wanting to strap him, and other choices give them the flexibility of the wrestler growing into the possibility of becoming at least a viable transition champion.

I say the last part despite knowing full well that the WWE booking model is "MITB winner loses constantly because hey, we can just erase those losses with a successful cash-in later."

The odds depend on what story they want to tell. Last year supposedly Sheamus won because they didn't want to feature the briefcase heavily in storyline, but plans had to change a bit when Rollins got hurt. If they don't want to feature the briefcase, they may go with Jericho or Del Rio.

MITB feels redundant now that a heel seems to win it every time. I don't see anyone but Owens having a chance here

Incoming brand split though. No guarantee of a unified world title for much longer (even if I'm hoping that continues).

Seat of the pants calculations:

Owens: 40%
Ambrose: 30%
Del Rio: 10%
Jericho: 7.5%
Surprise/Replacement Entrant: 5%
Cesaro: 5%
Zayn: 2.5%

I'll add that Zayn is 37.5% to hug the eventual winner.

If you knew that the long-term plan was to feed the MITB winner to Reigns and have a failed cash-in, but that they were not sure who they wanted to use in that spot, how would you change your calculations?

I think Cesaro has a much bigger chance of winning and Del Rio/Jericho are around 0%.

I kind of think it'll be Owens since he's been losing all the build-up matches, but I agree that it'd be interesting to see a face MITB again.

"if"? Cute.

It'll be awesome with Owens having the briefcase because he'll cut great promos about winning the belt and how he'll do it.
