Yes. I think he goes right after his US title.

This is a huge problem in the promotions that I watch (NJPW/PWG/ROH/WWE/NXT). Just the evolution of wrestling, I guess.

Building up Rusev again to feed him to Cena then bury Rusev below the midcard AGAIN will induce rage out of me.

Imagine if they go with the angle of Sasha Banks going after Charlotte and it turns out that she is doing so because she has hooked up with Ric Flair, who is sending her out to get revenge for Charlotte humiliating him on TV.

It feels like they might be going with the angle that it seems like AJ can't win without backup, leading to either a heel turn or AJ getting turned on when he seems poised to win. Imagine if they build to Anderson/Gallows vs AJ and a partner of his choosing and his surprise partner is...Finn Balor. Or it could be Cena. Imagine Cena/AJ eventually beating New Day for the tag titles and having a tag team open challenge with lots of fun and wacky combinations.

I see it as Finn/AJ vs. Club, Finn turns on him after the hot tag, Balor Club born

Anyone else surprised they let AJ do that fireman carry to neck breaker type move. I mean it's basically a more painful looking Attitude Adjustmant and makes Cenas move look lame

Fireman carry to anything looks better than the AA though because the AA is just a bad looking Death Valley Driver. Cena originally started using it as a heel in response to Lesnar's F5 which I always thought was ridiculous.

Sasha doesn't need Ric for storyline purposes. Ric is the one who robbed Sasha at WM. And, for business purposes, Sasha doesn't need Ric to be over, she's the most over female on the roster.

I don't think Cena fans are fans because his moves look painful, so it doesn't matter.

Rusev is great when the angles and dialogue are terrible, so he is perfect for WWE. Many wrestlers can be good when they get good material, but Rusev seems unphased by the trash. He should be one of the top guys for years and years, but that of course doesn't mean he will be.

I liked the Rusev/Ziggler feud a lot more than it deserved to be liked.

I agree, but I'm saying, if you imagine that WWE creative is a bunch of idiots, can you see that angle having a non-zero chance of taking place?

It would definitely take a bunch of idiots to book that. Is she supposed to be the face in this situation? Let's take the most over female who's fanbase ranges from little girls to men in their 30s and imply that 100 year old Ric Flair is ****ing her.

Do you believe that the WWE writers aren't dumb enough to do that? Or maybe they'd use Emma when she's ready to come back?

It's not what I would write for their storyline but I'm not sure it would be a terrible move from a business perspective.

In the U.S. the market for solid female wrestling is virtually nonexistent. People like us enjoy it but we are basically never watching/not watching or buying tickets/not buying tickets based on the diva storylines. In other words, i don't think they are gonna produce any $$$ for the company regardless of how well they perform or how well their stories are written.

If they go the soap opera route, there's a chance they get some new fans (eg people who watch total divas but otherwise never watch wrestling).

Im pretty confident sable/sunny in bathing suits during attitude era and the trish stuff after that generated more money than today's stuff.

Space Mountain might be the oldest ride at the park, but it still has the longest line.

WWE has been very bad at getting the Total Divas crowd to actually watch wrestling shows (unless they started as wrestling fans first then watched Total Divas), according to Meltzer.

WWE is trying to appeal to more people, and having a group of women role models who actually put on good matches and storylines could make the brand more appealing to young girls (I think WWE needs to hook most of their viewers at a young age; I imagine that's when most of us started watching and it's why the product seems focused on appealing to kids a lot).

I think they can definitely produce money for the company, but it might take some time since women's wrestling has been treated as a joke/afterthought in mainstream wrestling for such a long time, and it involves creating a new base of fans who haven't historically been into wrestling.

i agree that they need to hook fans at a young age and i do think young girls will be more interested in a bayley character than a sable. sadly for whatever reason, i think wwe is completely bypassing the grade school girls and aiming primarily for the 18-30 female demo, so prepare for a bunch more of:
Spoiler:

problem with aiming at that demo is that wrestling will never be "cool" especially with teenage girls who ~never have a mind of their own. so the odds of building a new fan base through them is super unlikely.

At what point do we get a Seth Rollins opening promo that intentionally goes too long so that it can be interrupted by Enzo and Cass, leading to the Dudleys attacking them, and Reigns making the save, to set up a six-man tag that might get expanded to five-on-five if Gallows/Anderson/Usos get involved?

I never know exactly what "prestige" means in these scenarios, but the IC title scene has been pretty great lately. A bunch of wrestlers want the belt, the people fighting for it are over with the crowd, and they had the best match of the night at the PPV. I'm not sure what else people want.

Ideally, he wouldn't lose every non-title match, clean

IC title scene is great but I absolutely hate the idea that guys who do nothing but lose (Cesaro, Zayn) big matches/title shots are somehow more qualified contenders than anyone else on the roster.
