watched a diesel/bret cage match last night and it mostly sucked. diesel has like 4 moves he can execute so sticking him in a cage really doesnt do much. then the undertaker comes through the ring and drags diesel under with him, at the end. and bret climbs over. so "blah"
also watched a macho man/warrior match from wm7 and it was surprisingly good, especially for the length. i would recommend it.
im looking for an hbk vs diesel title match. bret said that even tho shawn had lost the match, he knew diesel was "done." think he meant they'd have him drop the belt pretty soon. idk i cant find the one he was referring to tho.
btw earl ****ing hebner ruins the end of every match with his long, dragged out 3 count. it takes the life out of the building for a second and ruins a proper crowd explosion. the crowd reacts better to a somewhat quick count, and his are so slow the crowd counts aloud with him "1......... 2........ .........3."
Diesel vs. HBK at WM XI was okay but not great. Diesel vs. HBK at IYH in May '96 is Kevin Nash's best match easily just because HBK kills himself to put on an awesome show.
Oh, WM XI was when Diesel was champion though. The one I'm referencing that's actually worth watching is when HBK had just won the title. It was Nash's last match before heading to WCW.
Anyway like I said, I wouldn't really seek out the WM XI match, but it is watchable I suppose. A person can pretty quickly hack out all of the footage in Kevin Nash's career worth watching in less time than it takes to watch a Disney movie.
i just wanted to see it bc of bret's comments. he said shawn was so good in defeat he could tell diesel was close to done holding the belt and shawn was ascending.
Well it's true that Shawn pretty much stole the show that night and WWF ended up turning Shawn face the next night. Not sure if that was planned before the Mania match went as it did.
With that said, Nash kept holding onto that ****ing belt for another seven months until Bret finally took it away from him, so it wasn't too immediate of an effect on Nash's title reign. That reign basically doesn't have a rival for worst world championship reign ever when you factor in how ****ing long it went on.
Still forever bitter at WM11 being the only WM I've attended, and it being by far the crappiest one ever (WM9 sucked, but at least it had a then-fraudulent feel-good moment with Hogan winning the belt, the Doink-Crush match being interesting, and Steiners-Headshrinkers).
