Brad Paisley confirmed amazing live (for the third time). And thus ends the 4-day outdoor country music festival for 2012.

We'll see you at Craven 2013 featuring Kenny Chesney!

It's gutting that Brad did a show here like a month ago and I didn't get to see it. Next year, dammit.

Followed by "The West Texas Rednecks", with "Rap Is Crap".

More importantly, it's only 45 days to college football.

The Eagles bringing home the Super Bowl is more important than college ball.

I saw both Ted and Spiderman over the weekend. Both were better than I expected, Ted had me laughing through 3/4's of the movie, the ending got really creepy but I still enjoyed it a lot. Spiderman was better than the other ones imo, but still not as good as it could be imo. Emma Stone and Mila Kunis are both supper hot in their movies.

I was yelling, "Take a knee, TAKE A KNNNEEEE!" Then he broke it. Stadium exploded, high-fives and hugs all around.

PS: I LOVE Odell Willis, dude is pure energy. Nice trade, Taman.

Good to hear, as I assume both sucked. You mean this spiderman was better than the first 3? Shouldnt be hard I suppose, but still surprising cuz this one looks awful

I dunno man. It was essentially live action family guy with an overabundance of gay "jokes" (mostly just references to the word gay) and some really jarring cut away gags, which work in family guy but are really weird in this medium. Plus they play the love story completely straight and have a very rom com ending which didnt fit the tone of the movie at all

Ted was awesome.

I was laughing my ass off 90% of the film.

I'm disheartened by TDK Rises only getting 86% so far on RottenTomatoes, especially considering that Nolan has so populated the world with fanboys that ratings are generally going to err on the side of kindness.

It could also be a victim of its own expectations there too

No, I think Nolan is very good/great. I was simply putting it forth as the premise for saying that reviews are going to tend to skew positive.

(Okay, I admit to thinking that Inception was pretty damn overrated. But still pretty good, and I'm still in the camp that will watch any movie that Nolan puts out until and unless he loses me.)

I mean I took account of this possibility too, but I think on first viewing the vast majority go in expecting to love it and then look for confirmation of their initial suspicion more commonly than people readily accept disappointment.

With that said, I'll always defend Godfather III as a good movie that simply didn't hold up to the amazing bar of the first two, so I know that expectations can really destroy a movie's reputation.

For one example, as a big fan of Silence of the Lambs, I was SO stoked for Hannibal's release ~12 years ago. Then I watched it and left the theater going "that was awesome."

It took until the DVD release when I rewatched it that I accepted what was already in the back of my mind: "This movie is just okay." Certainly I'm projecting to an extent, but I think this is a pretty common tale among movie-goers who look forward to a film for months or even years.

batman begins got an 85% but was still ****ing amazing (watching it on fx right now, in fact)

dark knight was as well received as it was cuz ledger's joker was one of the best performances....well...ever

no disrespect to tom hardy or anne hathaway but those are some damn huge shoes to fill

Batman Begins was before Nolan was so huge. It was his stepping stone. He didn't have the same good will built up then. He had done what before that? Memento? Insomnia? I can't remember what else. He wasn't considered an elite director yet and it's plain that elite directors get a ton of latitude from critics that middling names don't really get.

This is just to say that this rating is more likely to be inflated than Batman Begins was. I'll be really ****ing happy if this one is as good as Begins was. Honestly I don't see the huge gap in quality between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as others do.

Maybe I'm just driving down my own expectations so as to avoid disappointment.
