I don't even think anyone cares Vince was a douche, but if he used the funds of a publicly traded company to pay these women off...that's criminal activity.

I know. I'm sure that politics has desensitized me into believing that people like Vince simply don't face real consequences. I would love to be jolted back into a reality where that isn't the case.

It sounds like he used personal funds to pay her off, but her salary went from 100K to 200K when they were releasing people for "budget cuts." This could be the misappropriation of funds part.

This line has been added to the "Code of Business Conduct" within the last few years:

"The grant or offer of an employment quid pro quo for personal intimacy."

So basically Vince is still in charge with Steph being a puppet. Could get more fun though.

Would be interesting if Steph was let go by Vince a month or two ago and Steph or HHH leaked this news about Vince and now Steph pushed Vince out.

I don't think she's a puppet, looking at the timeline of the events now it looks like she outplayed them all.

The WWE's press release says that Vince "will retain his role and responsibilities related to WWE’s creative content during this period and remains committed to cooperating with the review underway."

So yeah nothing's changing yet in terms of how WWE TV is run.

I guess we'll see what he says, but Vince has to be just about the worst client a defense attorney could have.

This seems like an incredibly terribly move. What a ****ing narcissist.

Why do so many criminals get got? Because they think they are smarter than everyone and don't keep their ****ing mouths shut. Its astounding how many true crime docs I've watched where people commit a crime, there is no solid physical evidence against them and then they talk with the police without a lawyer present instead of sitting in a chair and pulling a Mike "lawyer" bit until someone shows up to talk for them.

"But hiring a lawyer will make them think I'm guilty." They already ****ing think you're guilty, thats why you're in a chair in a little room with them trying to grill you.

You are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Shut the **** up and make the state show actual proof without your help.

^ All correct.

This is always a good reminder of how Vince thinks he can outsmart anyone who tries to pin him down, and how badly he would actually do under cross-examination: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXN7nDtAVX0&t=476s

If WWE was still a private company, Vince would fade this no problem

But since they're now a publically-traded company with a Board - once you lose the Board's faith, you're good as gone

I'd be shocked if he beats this and steps back into the CEO role

How many of these docs featured people of even remotely similar wealth/power as Vince McMahon?

Just read about him stepping down and thought this seems like an incredibly un-Vince-like move. But then saw he's going to appear on SD to get the ratings. Well okay then.

Although, I have to admit, even if there is a sliver of a percent of a chance this is all a work...(which again no way due to the money involved)...it would be incredibly well done.

Seems like essentially a 0% chance this is a work.

But the bastard is going to get me to tune into SD for the first time in forever, so I guess he achieved that.

Well, was that worth your time?

Ha, I missed it. Dealing with an internet outage. Based on the description, it sounds like he might have actually followed his attorney's advice. Surprised he didn't dangle that bait for two hours to maximize ratings.

He came out. They cheered. He said what's up Minnesota? Standing ovation. He left. Actually even shook hands with the audience...and probably immediately took a Purell bath when he got to the back.

Cageside Seats says:

Quote:
The show opens with Vincent Kennedy McMahon making his entrance.

He gets on the mic and says it’s a privilege to stand in front of the WWE Universe. He talks about the WWE signature at the top of every show, then now and forever, together, and together is the most important word.

He leaves.

We lost two legendary refs this week, Dave Hebner and Tim White.

Dammit, hadn't known about Tim White.

Of course, it immediately makes me think of Vince and co. having White repeatedly attempting suicide as, somehow, a comedy angle. File that one under "I know they do a lot of ****ed up ****, but c'mon, seriously?"

Actually, the two things I associate Tim White with really have very little to do with him being on screen: being Andre's personal assistant and owning the bar they frequently used to use and wreck for brawls.

Hush money to keep consensual affairs quiet is one thing. Coercing subordinates into sex and then firing them for not continuing/escalating the sexual relationships is way beyond that.
