Looks like every wrestling show may become a studio show for the foreseeable future.

NBA just suspended its season, and Trump just announced a 30 day ban on travel from Europe.

I don't see how Wrestlemania happens this year.

And Tom Hanks.

Yup, Mania chances happening on time have just plummeted. At least they can do it a couple of months later without much disruption. It's not like real athletic competition is on the line here.

Yeah, the only question left is if they run shows at all or if wrestling companies suspend activities like the NBA.

Honestly it would be fun to see WWE and AEW do studio wrestling and I could use the distraction, but I could see them just sending everyone home.

For an old school feel, WrestleMania 36 is should be held in the Allentown, Pennsyvannia Agricultural Hall.

i will say the few empty arena matches in wrestling have been pretty good with funk/lawler as the classic ("my eyeeeeeeeeee! my goddamn eye lance").

It's not like we weren't warned. Jake did say he was bringing the darkness to AEW.

Vince pulled the plug on XFL’s season now. Guess he reiterated his commitment to holding Mania earlier today, but I really, really can’t imagine it at this point. Nor am I hoping to see it happen under the circumstances.

hopefully they'll produce better matches there than they have in the last few years. I used to think Revival were the best tag team in the world but hindsight shows me that they were great when opposite two elite people in DIY and didn't really do much of anything else after. Hopefully a change of scenery perks them up and gets them to put more of an effort in again.

The world is forever indebted to Dash Wilder for getting the cleanest shots in on the lunatic who charged Bret Hart during the HOF.

You can't judge a team based on what they are permitted to do on Raw. TV matches are put together based on the lowest common denominator. Talent is expected to get in, do all their signature spots that the crowd is expecting them to do, then go home. Matches that tell a story are for PPV only, and how many PPV matches did Revival even get?

They are going to have amazing matches in AEW because they will be allowed to.

I was a new fan during the monday night wars and wasn't really part of the internet message boards at that time. I wonder if I would have found the brand loyalty* as weird then as I do now.

*They've had zero good matches in over two years and I even say hopefully a change of scenery motivates them to help them put on good matches elsewhere. The retort was "You can't have a good match on the show I dislike. They'll have good matches on the show I like because they'll be able to!" I imagine this confusion is how LKJ feels when media/fans discuss Rodgers.

Corporate loyalty is weird as all ****, but it's pretty non-specific to wrestling. Competing video game consoles and phone manufacturers have..."fans," I guess? A lot of people REALLY want to join as many tribes as possible.

I was definitely a WWF fanboy during the Monday Night Wars, and although I watched WCW regularly also, I was always wanting WWF to rise up and overcome, because I bought Vince McMahon's bullshit propaganda about how he was the victim, the little guy trying to beat the vindictive billionaire. In my defense regarding all of this, I was a kid.

After the Montreal Screwjob I flipped a switch and hated Vince, and immediately began wishing that WCW would step on his throat, but ultimately didn't manage to stick with that feeling when WCW fumbled the opportunity and WWF increasingly became the way superior product.

Paul Roma.

The Revival were great with every team they were matched up with in NXT. I remember them having some great matches with Jordan & Gable too. The tag division in NXT a few years back was really strong until the main roster butchered it.

Neither I, nor anyone else I knew that watched MNW era wrestling had a particular preference or rooting interest towards one company or another. Being in the northeast, I attended more WWE events. Actually never went to a live WCW show, but we just watched both and rooted for good shows.

Another thing for me is that I got turned onto WWF in 1989 and only vaguely knew that NWA/WCW was a thing, because I didn't have cable and the only wrestling available was via antenna (which gave me Superstars every week and occasionally Stampede). Also the local video store bought up WWF PPVs but never had any WCW tapes. A friend at school was into WCW and would sometimes tell me about it, but I basically didn't ever see a WCW show until we finally got cable in 1995. WWF had a six-year head start on indoctrinating me into their brand of wrestling being what wrestling was.

I kind of forgive myself for doing the fanboy thing back then.

Yeah, I was just trying to figure out if it's always been like this and I just never really noticed it before the last 10ish years or if it's a relatively recent development. The first time I was really introduced to it outside of sports teams was a few acquaintances in college being huge apple fans that would schedule viewing parties for their announcements and hate on any other phone. I thought it was weird af then and still do now.
