I disagree, you could have said the same thing about the John Bradshaw Layfield character and he had a really really nice heel title run

Barrett going over would be likely the favourite outcome given he was meant to get a huge push last year going over in a MITB then getting a world title run.

ya it's definitely gotta be either barrett or ambrose assuming that is ultimately the final lineup. cesaro is a plausible option, especially with walter now joining him, but if mcmahon can't stand him then it def seems unlikely

WHC wins a grueling match of some kind, shield's music hits, all 3 of them walk down to the ring to beatdown the champ and have ambrose cash in? how is that not the most obvious cash-in ever?

which of course means fandango will win

I don't really categorize the characters the same way.

Sandow is much more of a comedy character than JBL was. And heavily comedy-based characters, face or heel, have a ceiling below the world title until and unless they're repackaged.

Barrett has been booked as a total joke since returning last year, don't see them changing that anytime soon, not would it be believable.

Sandow has had some pretty vicious sneak attacks/run-ins. I don't think of him as a comedy heel by himself, it was more circumstance of feuding with terrible PG faces like Sheamus and Brodus Clay.

Think Cesaro is the heavy favorite here, hope Sandow gets it, though.

Why Cesaro as the favorite? He's booked just as bad as Barrett, imo. The only thing he has going for him now is Zeb (unless that's what you're basing your assessment on).

Cesaro was booked really strong while US champ. He even had competitive matches with Ryback while Ryback was undefeated. It was only until right before WM that he started to get booked like ****. Now that he's with Zeb I expect him to start getting booked strong again.

Seems as though that's how they book the WHC MITB match though. They did it with Swagger, I think they did it with Ziggler, and I can't remember any farther back than that.

It seemed on Raw that they were planting the seeds for a breakup of Rhodes Scholars, so maybe one of them.

Also, Christian and the Usos beat The Shield? WTF?

D-Bry hadn't been booked strongly at all leading up to his MITB win. It was out of basically nowhere.

ambrose winning, taking the title, then having the shield merge/expand to be a dominant faction is definitely a possibility i think

cesaro and barrett are both a chance; they both could make great champions even though i dont think now is a good time for either of them and in particular cesaro would be better served by winning legit

no real comment on swagger/sandow, but it wouldnt surprise me to see either of them win either.

i just dont see rhodes winning... fandango too; he is making up numbers but might actually be the best performer in the match...

Fandango is 100% Vinces creation, I reckon he has a decent chance

Does anyone want to place a wager on the Smackdown MITB match? There seems to be a wide range of opinions.

What's really strange is that they have 7 people in there and not one of them could really be classified as a "spot monkey".

How long until Kofi's back? Surprise entrant or late entrant possibility? Maybe a bit early for him?

Readers are sending in word that in the first segment of tonight's WWE Smackdown taping in Providence, RI a new full-time general manager was named by none other than Vince McMahon.

The night started off with Teddy Long asking the crowd for his support to become the permanent GM, but he was quickly interrupted by Booker T who made his long-awaited return. Vince McMahon and Brad Maddox both came out, before the WWE Chairman announced that the new general manager of WWE Smackdown would be... Vickie Guerrero!

I thought they were going to keep him off TV and then have his cash in be a surprise. Guess not.

That would be such an awesome way to do it. Have Orton be gone for like 3 or 4 months and return one night to cash in the briefcase. The pop he would get when his music hits would be one of the biggest pops ever.
