I could see some companies that would consider valuing Muta over Kobashi, but my company now has three guys that would be absolute locks to be taken in the first 8 picks if this draft was held in Southeast Asia. Kobashi already had an intense fan base in the U.S. before he ever even wrestled here; the fans already are chanting for him at the start of this video (his U.S. debut), and pretty much never stop going wild.

Granted, that's ROH, but that's where Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk etc. got started also. Kobashi isn't just a worker; he has great crowd psychology and unspoken charisma also. And, if he couldn't make it as a face in the U.S. (or even if he could), he would make a great member of the Heenan family

Here are my write ups for yesterday.

After starting to write up the last federation. I now realize longevity is such a big issue in these.

Davey Boy Smith: He is a former tag champ and IC champ plus European champ. He can put on great matches and he went for 15 + years

Superstar Billy Graham

Former WWF champ. He went for 15-20 years. He inspired all the greats and was the face of the company. First actual heel champ that wasnt transitional.

Scott Steiner: He has held every title in WCW/NWA and was a former WWF tag champ. He goes the full 25 years and he was great value.

Greg Valentine: Former US champ and IC champ. Former tag champ throughout the territories plus he goes the full 25. He can wrestle with the best of them.

Ron Simmons: Former WCW world champ. Tag champ in WCW/ WWE. He goes 20+ years.

Junkyard Dog: Not only was he pretty over in WWF. He was soooooooo over in the territories. No way this guy is spew. 20+ years for him.

Michael Hayes: Not only is he one of the best tag team wrestlers of all time. He is also a former US champ. He also goes 20+ years

On the contrary, I think that longevity is less of an issue in this one, with rosters twice as big and theoretically twice as many big names. Plus after trying to write up my last federation (which I spent a ridiculous amount of time on to say I didn't end up producing anything), I realised that having the same guys throughout your entire history could get a bit boring for the fans.

I think that as long as you have 25 guys active at any one time with a handful of main event stars you're good to go, which should easily be achievable with rosters this deep.

25 guys wasnt enough for me

I said 25 as a bare minimum; chances are that you'll have much more than that even if you have a bunch of guys who only go 5-10 years.

Well the point is moot. The guys I took arent just longevity guys. They are also very good too

I wasn't arguing with your picks. JYD was a reach though, and Valentine and Simmons probably were too.

to be honest i was planning to take simmons in this area. solid singles career+good tag team history makes him fairly valuable. maybe a small reach but there's a chance simmons wouldnt have made it back to him.

I dont think they are reaches. I just like older guys. Id rather have any of those guys than guys just taken like Sabu, abdullah and jarrett

Spoiler:
A 3 time world champion and possibly not even at his peak yet, Sheamus is very over without any glaring weaknesses.

I was taking Simmons, I would have paired him up with JBL and the Rock.

Quoting the OP:

"The goal of this draft is for each team to draft the best wrestlers available to create the best possible federation."

So I'll set personal feelings about him aside and do what is good for business with this pick:

Spoiler:
PWI's 14th best wrestler of the PWI years, placed in the WON hall of fame in the first year it was opened (and in fact has an annual award named after him for best brawling style wrestler)...

Always super over as a face, but best known for his heel work, Bruiser Brody was one of the highest paid wrestlers of the 80s per appearance, because promoters all over the world knew that if they could get him, they would have a main event that would draw.

Alright it might take me a few minutes to decide on my pick. I'm conflicted right now.

Bruiser Brody has similar issues to Benoit, else I'd have picked him a while ago.
