Just rewatched the main event. They were laying in some serious shots on each other. And I missed it last night, but that may have been the most vicious clothesline I have ever seen. Say what you will about Reigns buthe had a hell of a match and towards the end was winning over a lot of that crowd. Sure there were still a decent amount off boos when he was doing his end offense, but there were a lot more cheers than in the beginning of the match

Didn't read this thread and was pleasantly surprised by WM. Thought everything was from passable to the ME which was excellent.

Overlooked ITT, the last two wrestlemanias were headlined and WON by BRYAN DANIELSON AND TYLER BLACK.

brief thought: The battle royal could actually be entertaining if they made it royal rumble style with the entrants. Good way to surprise debut NXT guys or anybody else, and dont give me this the royal rumble would lose its prestige bull****. There's little argument this would make it better. So it doesnt take up the whole card just make it a turbo rumble, new person out every 30 seconds.

A new person every thirty seconds would be a train wreck. The reason the Rumble works is because of the build up and 10 second countdown for the next entrant up. This would be lost in a turbo format.

Also the reason that it is a battle royal and not a Rumble style match is because Andre was the king of battle royals. Not having be a battle royal would be stupid.

On a side note, Andre was eliminated early in the only battle royal I ever saw live. It was the early 80's at the old Spectrum in Philly. If i remember correctly Killer Khan won it.

I'd be impressed if big show made it to the ring before the next person was announced in 30s. probably still a sprint for even the fastest guys.

but srsly, sounds awful. current version way better. They already don't have any new rumble material, they cant have 2 a year. 2 months apart

Maybe Sting is just really **** old.

I have no idea why people were excited to see him. Or why anybody would root for him over HHH in the match.

It's not about the match, it's about the spectacle. That's the rational from everybody who wanted to see him.

Few comments after watching my first Wrestlemania in years.

1). I absolutely hate the outdoor arena. It being light out I thought took away from the event in itself.
2). Shawn Michaels just inducted Nash the night before into the HOF, and then he is going to be on opposite sides?
3). Didn't really know what Money In The Bank was, so wasn't a huge fan of that angle, but I guess triple threat matches are more common now.
4.). Really enjoyed the women's match.
5). Would have liked to see Daniel Bryan win the title 1 on 1 rather than a ladder match with 6 people. Why not just a regular match. In the old days, they always had a reason for the gimmick matches, what was the backstory for the ladder match?
6). Would have liked to see the first 2 matches included in regular Wrestlemania. Why was the Battle Royal on a pre show?
7) wasn't a fan of commercials during a PPV.
8) please do away with the female ring announcer. Again doesn't have the same feel as Finkel.
9) you don't realize how much Jesse Ventura added to the show until you watch one without him. Huge difference.

The back story was basically comedy.

If you started watching the current product cold from just watching during the years when Jesse was a commentator, you'd be floored by how horribly they've murdered the IC Title in the modern era.

Thought this made sense. Have the respect behind the scenes but when it's time for business, each guy is loyal to their respective brand. I did wtf at first but I'm giving benefit of the doubt on this one.

Probably got bumped to make room for the Rock/Rousey segment

I like Finkel but I also don't mind the female announcers, they're a huge improvement over Justin Juan Roberts. They really should just sign Pride Lady for PPVs though.

2. The HOF is where guys are most likely to drop character and speak honestly about people. That being said, 'kayfabe', the idea that guys on different sides should never be seen in public, is pretty much dead.

3. Money in the Bank is about 10 years old. It's a ladder match where the winner gets that briefcase. In the briefcase is a contract for a title match anywhere anytime (expires in 1 year). Most times guys will use it after the champion's had a grueling match to try and hit his finisher/get a win. Think Hogan/Yokozuna at Mania IX. This is the first time anyone's used it to put himself directly into a match.
