I don't get how the Orange Cassidy gimmick isn't tired after the second or third time you see him. Also seems only a matter of time before serious injury with his hands in pockets on those dives.

Watching TWS instead of NXT. Though I'm sure that NXT's been better than AEW tonight.

I was thoroughly sports entertained in that match. He gets his minute of shine in and it's great.

Nice to see that the tag titles are going to main event instead of this.

Ha! Hager used the knee to the crotch. He used the MMA match to set up his new gimmick. Brilliant!

I still haven't been taken with anyone I didn't already know when AEW started.

Only half way through NXT, but the women's brawl is definitely the coolest thing I've seen tonight.

Riddle has really grown on me. NXT was very good again.

I'm watching NXT now. The Kabuki Warriors tag + post-match definitely felt like a statement differentiating themselves from AEW. A long, old-school tag match with psychology and face/heel personalities instead of a bunch of flips and gymnastics, then a total brawl that showed how much deeper and more exciting the women's division is than AEW's. Leading to a war games match which should be pretty cool. I really enjoyed it and think it's smart since this is where they have a big edge.

Maybe they had Dakota Kai isolated a little too long in the match, but she is very good at the babyface in peril thing.

AEW tag division is insane, they seem to have about 6 teams all capable of great matches with each other. Their women's division seems so poor though (in all fairness WWE did sign literally every female wrestler) and their singles division is very meh in my opinion, I don't really care about anyone in it which is mad, they do seem to be botching Kenny, Pac and a couple of others, but this surely has to change over time.

Currently very excited for War Games even though it's ~3 weeks away, not that excited about Full Gear. Hoping that Omega and Dean do just kill each other could be great and fully expecting the tag match to be great too.

The opening match on AEW was the exact thing they've been missing to me. There was a babyface and a shithead heel you want to see get his ass kicked (Guevara is very punchable), and the babyface won in a shorter match that made him look good.

Women's match was meh, though Shida seems a cut above their other women. This Cody thing is just insanely boring. There has to be way to do a serious presentation that isn't watching two guys have a dull conversation in a car.

This Best Friends thing is pure cringe and more embarrassing than anything in WWE to me.

I liked Moxley's promo a lot. Character-defining and I have a reason to be interested in his matches now. Another thing that's been missing from the show.

I get why people like the tag division but to me the matches are too much nonsense with no application of rules or investment in anything other than big choreographed spots.

You may need antibiotics or some sort of anti-fungal. Sound like a very uncomfortable condition.

I've seen lots of people praise last night's show as the best of the 4. I thought it was the weakest by a good margin. Am I crazy?

I was not into the AEW show last night, and I'm an AEW fan. I thought the tag title match was particularly disappointing.

AEW has been on the air 5 weeks and NXT has been on for 7 weeks. Each and every week these shows has had less viewers than the week previous. That's a terrible sign. Major League Baseball is over now so there is no excuse going forward. Next week should be the first time these shows show an increase in viewership over the week previous.

TWS went from 11m last week to 21m this week so AEW/NXT ratings are pretty irrelevant. AEW still putting a whooping on NXT which is

If either were to drop next week, it's time to close up shop.

WWE announced today that Survivor Series will be RAW vs. Smackdown vs. NXT, which could theoretically boost NXT viewership if they present some of the talents well. Then again, it'll presumably be Vince booking and I doubt he's going to have NXT guys go over the talents he needs to draw ratings on RAW and SD, so it should be interesting.

AEW is too WCW 2000. Too many of their pals, too many wrestlers on the roster for just one show a week (been 5 eps and a bunch of people have been seen once right?), too few people good on the stick and don't use MJF at all really outside of small parts and he actually can, too much wrestling, too many people trying to get over on wrestling alone and that is quite a short list of people that pulled that off.

Can't imagine how much $ they're gonna blow on this before they pull the plug at this rate, they only have a few people on this show worth tuning in for atm.

In the end the last part is probably their downfall.

You do know their TV ratings in the key demographic have been quite good, right?

I mean, there's some truth to your statements, but the gloom and doom stuff seems silly.

This is a silly comparison. WCW 2000 was regarded as a cluster**** and horrible because the show was a cluster**** and nothing made sense. AEW at least makes sense and aren't having count outs in falls count anywhere matches or an "escape the cage" match with a roof on it. I think a good time to mention AEW in the same breath as WCW 2000 is when Tony Khan wins the AEW title after saying he doesn't even wanna be on tv.

To put it in perspective, this past week they were #6 in that key demo behind Game 7, 2 NBA games and two other things. NXT was #32. AEW's also crushing what was on TNT prior to it debuting.

AEW has been amazing so far. I'm very close to pulling the plug on WWE. They keep highlighting just how bad WWE has been for far too long.

-Moxley gave the promo of his lifetime, showcasing just how mis/under used he was in WWE. Like SarcasticRat said, it almost singlehandedly gave an emotional attachment to the Omega/Moxley match and interest in it outside of two wrestlers who have been around awhile you want to see fight.
-I say it over and over, but JR is just SO much better than Cole/Phillips. It's almost like he knows it's a television show and treats it like one. Cole thinks he's a ****ing news anchor. Maybe it's not his fault, maybe that's how WWE wants him to be, but regardless, it's terrible. When The Rock N Roll Express got attacked early in the show he reacted with outrage, when Swagger and Sammy attacked Dustin he did as well. He adds excitement to exciting matches, he makes you feel something. I watch SD/AEW simultaneously recorded so it's even more blatant, but it's absurd.

The WCW 2000 comparison is laughably bad.

I think I've realized a lot of why I like AEW compared to WWE. The presentation is just so much more realistic.

- With WWE's set of video walls everywhere, you're just constantly reminded it's a production that's a joke.

- They haven't branded their wrestlers making it even more of a joke. "He's The Fiend Bray Wyatt", "The Monster Among Men"...go **** yourselves.

- The fans are not a ****ing "universe".

- The commentators, while not perfect, aren't yelling at you the entire match.

- Wins and losses are supposed to matter. I don't think this has been perfect, either but it's better than WWE.

My biggest gripe with AEW so far is the camera work, especially in tag matches. For the most part WWE has knows how to shoot the show very well enough to not miss spots.

I have confidence new big stars will emerge from the crop of relative unknowns but we shall see.

I got tickets for AEW in December. It'll be my first non-WWE wrestling show since Starrcade 97. I hope Aubrey Edwards doesn't mess up a fast count in the main event.
