Also I hate how we have to suspend logic . If the show was gonna turn why would
He knockout and eliminate mark Henry ?

They probably just audibled the heel turn in mid-match when Vince randomly thought of it backstage.

Show comes out and cries tonight. Say he panicked and made a mistake. Begs Cena to be his friend again.

They really booked themselves into a corner where he was logistically the only one who could turn with the way they booked Dolph, but there must have been a groan in the room when they laid it out. Really don't want to see yet another round of Show/Cena.

But how will Cena be able to beat the world's largest athlete? We all know he can't possibly lift him up for an AA.

By taking out Mark Henry, the Big Show made himself a much more effective double agent. Big Show taking out 1 member of Team Authority was part of an elaborate plan to ensure the demise of Cena. Think about it, Cena knows Big Show has screwed him over many times in the past and might have been expecting a double cross, but Show taking out Henry took away suspicion. That part of the plan was genius but HHH didn't have every base covered. He was either lazy or arrogant.

HHH badly underestimated the rest of Team Cena, namely the ability of Dolph Ziggler to elevate his game on a big stage. Nobody could have predicted that Ziggler would come back from a 3-1 deficit against some heavy hitters, especially when you take his concussion problems into consideration. Yeah HHH made his big show move but he should have worked out a contingency plan for a random occurence (e.g. Sting or Randy Orton interference). How could he not be prepared for an outside attack? Team Authority has many enemies. I would have even prepared for one of my own Team Authority members (probably Rusev) to possibly attempt a betrayal.

You reap what you sew. HHH was not fully prepared for this match.

I don't think it's that bad, at the time it was 3 on 3 and show's partners were hurt John Cena and dead Dolph Ziggler so he called an audible and killed the guy known for overcoming the odds and left the dude laying dead outside who never wins, to overcome a 3 on 1 disadvantage.

he did stab him in the back on raw a few weeks ago. Obv its still a bit dumb and the nut strategy would be to just punch them all straight away.

But no reason he couldn't get revenge on the guy who kicked his ass, then get the authority the 100% guaranteed W leaving them with a 3 versus 0.2 unconscious Ziggler. Personal , then business.

I agree with a lot in this thread, to be fair to them, they invested like 2 hours per Raw building to this Main Event compared with what a Main Event would normally get per Raw, 2 segments to open n close.
So it made sense that the rest of the card was pretty empty, which made it **** at times. But we got a pretty terrific match out of it, constantly impressed with everything HHH is involved in. Can't help but think he has played such a huge part in getting guys like Rollins, Ambrose and now Ziggler to the next level. As well as making Harper and possibly Rowan relevant. (probably Ryback too but not sure that's something i'd praise him for)

The Sting interruption could have been done so much better, Entrance music doesn't interrupt a 3 count, ffs scott armstrong focus. It's a shame Bray Wyatt has the monopoly on lights out interruptions these days, would have been so much cooler to (logically) interrupt the 3 count with a black out. When the lights come back on Sting is stood with a baseball bat with Mercury n Noble KO'd in the ring, with HHH n Sting then staring each other down. (i've never seen a sting match so didn't give 1 hoot about him, obv appreciate who he is and the pop though) I guess they really needed the entrance and cole shouting THAT'S STING!!! as he came out to make sure the arena knew who the **** the balding 55 year old man in the ring was.

Other thoughts:
  • RoseBunny and CrocoHeath need to never be on a big 4 ppv though.
  • How Paige doesn't just ace the other team I don't know. She's been the best diva since she turned heel by far, miles ahead of a pretty stale Ms. Punk.
  • Confirmed Bellas, especially Niki getting hotter.
  • They teased (meaning its more unlikely to happen) Paul Heyman becoming the Raw GM on the preshow, given his connection to Brock Lesnar, that would be one way Cena could cash in his AuthorityInTheBank without turning heel, to finally get a title shot v Brock that Heyman was protecting.

I'm a bit surprised by how many people have said they have never or almost never watched a Sting match. I have this thirst for hunting down good wrestling (not as much as I did in the 80s or 90s but it still exists from time to time). Same approach as food: if it is free and many people like it, why not try it?

I won't give them a pass for not building the rest of the card. They have about 30 people in creative. Don't have them all sitting around arguing about the same storyline. Put some of them on the other storylines, or give the talent the freedom to do what they want if you don't have anything for them. In the 80s and 90s they often had 1-2 people plus Vince writing all of the TV shows every single week.

I suggest watching nearly any sting/flair or sting/Vader match from 92-93. Seriously just a great series of matches he had those two years

Sting should have happened AT least ten years ago. I've seen him daily in TNA when I watched and couldn't really care less.

Just watched SS minus the Divas crap + whatever taht Bunny **** was + skipped to the end of the main event. Opener was decent and it's the first time I've seen Mizdow and loved him but I guess it's not a surprise.

Once I saw the length of the ME, I decided I couldn't watch it through though I had wanted to. The end was terrible. lol Sting. lol HHH. lol Steph. However, the biggest lol is Seth laying on Dolph for five ****ing minutes because.....ummm...i don't really know. A slightly less lol is both guys having their feet under the rope and neither the ref or especially an announcer mention it (i get why but it was stupid). Also lol'ed to a much less degree at Ambrose bringing out a ladder to just sit on it above Wyatt.

I loathe Cena. The moment he said a word in the opening segment, I wanted to fast forward but forced myself to sit through it. His voice, delivery, and content are all cringe worthy.

Coming through the crowd would also be so much better. Anything that doesn't ask people to not do their obvious jobs for 3 minutes.
Yep

Was thinking of coming up with a best of Sting list and about half the matches would be from that time period.

Something like this would have worked better. It took way too long for Sting to make his way to the ring so the crowd was just standing there waiting for something to happen. The crowds now aren't as hot as they used to be so it wasn't going to be an incredible reaction regardless, but it was pretty underwhelming for how significant it was.

Oh, and why didn't the referee keeping counting? And more importantly, why wasn't HHH screaming at him to keep counting during the 3 minutes it took Sting to get to the ring? You have to just accept this kind of stuff watching wrestling, but it was so stupid. That's another reason why the lights going off idea would've been a lot better.
