WWE TV censors things like "ass" (unless The Rock is cutting a promo). Clearly over the line, even in character. That, and Michael Cole probably doesn't even know what the word "kayfabe" means. When his character is (rarely) entertaining, part of the reason it's so successful is that it wouldn't be hard to believe Cole actually being that much of a douchebag.

Does anybody from WWE actually Tweet in character anyway? I don't follow many of them, but Dolph tweets about doing Brazzers videos and Joey Styles pretty much spends most of his time criticizing what's on TV - something along the lines of "WWECW is what killed my desire to ever call wrestling again".

I, for one, think if Cole is going to stay on TV, he needs to just be Jack Swagger's manager or something. I certainly don't think he can continue to be on Raw post-Mania unless Lawler is retiring. Mathews on play-by-play and heel Cole on color might work.

Belated SmackDown recap, because I was away over the weekend.


- We open with a recap of last week's ADR/Brodus assault on Edge, with a pretty brutal conchairto to Edge's arm. Teddy is talking to Edge and says that if Edge and ADR touch each other (attention, GLAAD) before WrestleMania then their match is off and they're banned from the event.

- Rey vs Punk to open the show, I like this. Solid match as expected, the kids are loudly in support of Rey while Cole and Booker argue over whether or not Punk is frustrated. Awesome springboard moonsault by Rey to the outside, followed by a beatdown from the Dashing One who's just appeared. Like the build here so far, should be a good WM match.

- E&C backstage chat now, Christian trying to help Edge out - this co-operation between them is leading to a botched assistance from C at WM which loses E the title IMO. Edge selling the arm by not raising both arms during his entrance, nice. Good little match, Edge wins with the Edgecator, awesome. Commentators don't seem to remember the name of the move, though.

- More HHH vs Taker shilling, still not as stoked about this match as I expected to be.

- Rosa Mendes still has a job? LayCool are (I assume) dressed as Snookie, this is going to be dire. They need to break up LayCool soon, their shtick is getting old.

- Corre vs Show/Kane recap, they need to actually schedule a WM match for this feud soon. Wade vs Kofi for the IC title, interesting. Wade wins the IC title with an awesome counter to Trouble in Paradise. Beatdown on Kofi which is presumably gonna bring him into the WM match.

- Taker is here. I love his Johnny Cash music. He's standing in the darkness on the stage to cut a promo, weird. He talks about Triple H being nothing more than number 19, and shills their Raw confrontation.

- Swagger is up next and Cole is on his feet applauding from with the Cole Mine. Oh FFS he's up against R-Truth. This guy must ship a lot of merchandise or something, because there has to be some reason why he hasn't been future endeavoured yet after three years of dull midcardiness.

- LOLLLLL, Cole replies to "What's Up?" with "Not you!" and talks about how Truth doesn't know what town they're in. Awesome. He also says he and Swagger have a dojo, WTF? He raps while Swagger puts Truth in the Ankle Lock, and the crowd tells him he sucks.

- Christian vs ADR again in the ME, hmm. Huge pop for Christian, good to see. Josh says "Edge is not gonna throw away his WrestleMania opportunity" - is it still an opportunity if you're already the champion and have been to WrestleMania many times before?

- Wow, Christian wins fairly clean. Interesting. Edge goes to hit ADR with a chair at the end but Christian stops him and hits ADR himself. Plays into my 'botched interference' theory very nicely.

Not a bad show at all, Wade vs Kofi and Edge vs Drew were good, and the main event was very solid. SD definitely has the better WM build going, even though Raw has The Rock, which is saying something.

Never watch SD so I had to look this up. Pretty awesome.

Updated Official Rules:

1)Only matches announced officially on the Raw from Mar 28 and prior will be picked. Full card can be seen at the bottom of this post. Picks can be PMed to dnkyhunter31 between March 28th and April 2nd. PM ONLY PLEASE.

2)The pool is a pick 'em style pool. You pick the winner(s) of each match. If a match ends in a draw, you would have to pick the match as a draw as an outcome in order to get points.

3)You assign confidence points to each pick.

How do confidence points work?

Example:
There are 9 matches scheduled for Wrestlemania. You pick the winners of each match and assign points ranging from 1-9 on how confident you feel about your pick (numbers only used once).
So if you feel that Cena is a lock to win against The Miz, you would assign the number 9 to it. If The Miz wins, you get 0 pts. Then if you feel HHH is a lock to win against Taker, you would assign a 8 and so forth....
In the end, the totals will be added up and the winner will have the highest point total. Highest possible point total is 45, if there are only 9 numbers (9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1)

Its interesting that Corre (still such a lolbad name) is gathering the titles, something that Nexus never did for some reason i still dont understand.

I think Cole will be commentating on SD full time post WM and they will replace him with Josh on Raw. Seems to be the most logical outcome. Booker is still a ridic bad commentator (not watched for a couple weeks, but watched the Kofi/Wade match on youtube, nice little match fwiw). That Wasteland counter was great, its very quickly becoming one of my fave finishers.

As for twitter, Punk is pretty much a dick to everyone on it. Im not sure if he is tweeting in character or if he is just a bit of a tool in real life (not that there is anything wrong with it). He had a tweet earlier today where someone sent hima picture of his brother's tattoo and Punk told him it was horrible. I loled.

In a pickle, Im not paying for WM but theyre offering it at the movies down here (Mexico City) for $20 bucks and they have nice movie theaters here but that means I cant be part of the threads play by play but in order to be part of it I have to rely on a river and it just wont be the same, decision decisions.

easy decision, go with a few buddies to the movies and watch it with a bunch of other people. I watched a monday night football game in a movie theater a couple years ago and had a blast. It'll look sick, people will be into it, and the atmosphere will be awesome.
