It's clear that I'm out of practice when it comes to going to wrestling events. Last televised event I went to (read: ONLY TV event I went to) was a PPV that featured HBK/Ahmed/Sid vs. Vader/Owen/Davey.

I'm at the arena now. The number of people of all ages who wear Cena shirts is eye-opening and horrifying. Maybe it just didn't offend my senses when I saw everyone in Austin gear, but I don't remember seeing this glut of merchandise for one wrestler before. The only other gear I see is a smattering of DX. No clever signs in sight yet, but it amused me to see a kid carrying one that said "Maryse u suck". I guess someone out there needs to boo her. I don't think I'm on the TV side, I'm on the ringside to the right of the announcers as they call the action.

Not realy surprising since Cena sells by far more merchandise than any other superstar. I think the number is about 50-60% of ALL merchandise is sold by Cena.

i'd say hes just protecting his reputation. if he asks for anything less than that then the heyman experiment would just fail anyway given how lol the company has been. If he just says "yeah whatever, i'll come aboard" and then it becomes a big failboat and he's ruined. if TNA is really interested in having heyman then they clearly need to be willing to compete with WWE, and the first person that they need to convince of that is heyman himself.

Im pretty out of the loop on news right now. I gorged on wrestling last year and since Mania my interest fell off a cliff, lol.

I wouldnt be opposed as such since he is supposed to be WAY better than what we saw on ECW but it would be a HUGE letdown if true. They are building towards a big name or huge twist.

He is making public statements that represent the uppermost of what he would like from TNA. TBH i dont think his demands are that gross and are something easy to negotiate from since he:
1, wont work under Russo or otherwise just attach his name and then get **** all over
2, knows TNA wants to be as big as the WWE

The only thing that is a bit out there is the "his own staff to guide the product and marketing" but it is hard to evaluate without a direct quote in context.
