Anyone ever been to a PWG show? Gonna be in LA at the end of January, and DDT4 is on the 31st. Looks like a great card, and just wondering about the atmosphere.

Does anyone else not give two ****s about Batista?

I don't really have anything against him. I guess he was a pretty serviceable big man, but there's so many other people that are more interesting and that I'd like to see get more air time.

Well it seems like they're bringing back face Batista, and he isn't very good. Heel Batista was a solid character who I'd like to see again, but if we're not getting him I won't have much use for this return.

yeah, heel batista was infinitely more interesting character.

pretty much true for every single heel/face tho. Heels playing a role always going to be more layered than faces who are basically themselves.

The whole Barry Horowitz thing would have been better if:
1) They didn't foreshadow it so strongly by having him get closer and closer in matches (with the announcers' acknowledgment) before the upset of Candido;
2) They actually had him upset a heel who was over instead of someone getting an ADR reaction.

Davey Boy Smith is one of the only ones that quickly comes to mind as a superior babyface. He just wasn't a believable heel at all (which is odd since it sounds like he could be quite the ******* IRL). And he was never able to work the mic at all, and Cornette wasn't enough to complete him as a good heel character.

My work with Face Snake Eyes rivaled my work with his heel persona, although it was all just an act to get back into the world title picture, so he eventually would have changed back. But he was able to get the crowd on his side after being one of the most hated characters for about 2 years

Batista is a less talented less committed Orton who as a bonus is a worse actor than [name any actor, aspiring or profession]. So obviously I am ecstatic he will return.

If Batista was just a little bit worse I would actually be glad he was coming back. He has some of the best 'so bad it is good' moments in the post-WCW world. Being that awful isn't just encouraged. It is allowed.
