I think Angle turned face in 2003-2004 and the crowd still said "you suck" heck, when Angle returned from his neck injury in 2003, he wanted them to say "you suck" and took it all in.

Type what words you want to be clickable, then highlight them and press the link icon above that's in front of a globe.

From what I remember (WHAT?), it was a promo with the Alliance back in summer of '01 (WHAT?). He was in the ring grilling each member individually (WHAT?) and after each question or statement he would say "WHAT?" (WHAT?).

I think the 1st time he used it might have been on Hugh Morris/Bill DeMott (WHAT?). Had something to do with him laughing while Austin was talking (WHAT?). So he said something like, "So you're the laughing man. What? Do you think I'm funny. What?" and that's how I remember it starting (WHAT?).

I sincerely hope this was as annoying to all the people who hate WHAT? as I think it was (WHAT?).

BTW...best uses of the WHAT chant
1 - Important job interviews.
2 - When being pulled over for suspicion of DWI.
3 - When collection agencies call on overdue/unpaid bills.
4 - During weddings, wakes, funerals, and all other important religious functions.

Ok found it. Quality kinda sucks and it wasn't worded exactly as I remembered it, but pretty awesome Austin promo.

"Who whipped your ass?"

I actually used the 'What?' chant on a group of 200+ people a while ago. It was pretty awesome.

There's no way this was awesome.

Well, the only thing good out of it was Jericho vs Rock (The match. Don't know about the storyline).

The Alliance story was potentially the biggest story of the post attitude/WCW competition era. But it was like 6 months of Vince jerking himself off over how awesome he was to beat Ted Turner.

Actually it was. It was at a youth conference, me at the front of the room trying to energise everyone. Asking a question to which everyone is designed to respond collectively, and then repeatedly asking "What?" until they give you the required level of energy/noise is actually surprisingly effective.

The Best and Worst of Raw: Power to the People - For those of you who read Best and Worst, I’m looking for some survey feedback. Should I do more of these? Cover Smackdown or maybe (gasp) Impact Wrestling presents IMPACT? Maybe Best and Worst of older shows? Would anybody read that? [With Leather]

Alliance botched worse than Nexus?

BTW, are we all still waiting for Wade Barrett to explain to us how this is all part of a bigger plan or did he do that already?

I think the conventional wisdom was that ECW matches like this were overbooked, but I think they were onto something. Way better to have all the drama and story line setup take place in the ring instead of dragging it out over months of promo needling. And there is always a 3-count/tap. Anyway, neither RVD nor Cena are remotely close to my top 20 list but this might be my favorite match of all-time(! as in most fun to rewatch over and over, clearly not best wrestling showcase ever.)

I always wondered if the atmosphere affected the booking. I mean, I assume this push/path was mapped out for RVD well in advance, but even if he were caught smoking a bowl in Vince's office and blew both of his knees out during the intros I still think they would have had Cena go down.
