Greatest Wrestler of All Time Round Two Voting and Discussion - Page 4

Im happy to be an outlier in that and if i thought my vote was ever going to make a difference i might have tried to be fairer to Hogan who i hate and i picked Regal because he is a much better mic worker and in ring worker so all Hogan has over him is popularity. But Jericho over Kawada is just clearly incorrect given Kawada is better in the ring, more innovative with a much larger impact and legacy on the business, more popular and produced many many better matches (which admittedly Jericho struggles with just because he worked for WCW and WWF/E).

The disparity isnt so huge that its obvious to any random, its not like this is Santino going over him, but its the equiv of having a boxing forum do the same thing and people pick Mike Tyson over Muhammed Ali at a 10:1 vote ratio. If it were much much closer i wouldnt have even noticed nor cared cos there is an obvious selection bias but such a landslide is so lolbad.

I understand your love of puro, and I have great respect for puro, but you're really downplaying Jericho. Kawada is a legend in Japan that has produced countless 5 star matches, but this is an American forum and IMO Jericho has been the best, most consistant worker in the mainstream american wrestling scene in the past 15 years.

I would say Jericho-Kawada is like a Tyson-Ali is wrong. More like a Pacman-Sugar Ray Robinso comparison, which leaves room for debate.

I dont recall if i voted against him in round one but him being a huge douche, to the point he made it legally justified for someone to stab him to death, worked against him when i weighed him up.

Edit, i assume he has a niche of supporters who really like him which is why WON seems to rate him so highly when others seem to have forgotten him.

Sting vs. Rey Mysterio Easy vote for Sting, but I do respect Rey and like him a lot more than most on this forum.
Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Bryan It's tough for Bryan to be up against someone who is a better wrestler than him. If Angle hadn't gone to TNAids he might be in the top 5 of all time.
Jake Roberts vs. Ricky Steamboat Really tough match-up but I just can't vote against the Dragon.
Brian Pillman vs. Antonio Inoki I was always a huge Pilliman mark so don't gat mad at me Puro fans.
Randy Orton vs. Eddie Guerrero Another really tough match-up. I think Orton may be the most underrated wrestler of all time by this forum. He just constantly puts on great matches with just about anyone.
Ted Dibiase vs. Bruno Sammartino I like the Million Dollar Man but Bruno did way more for wrestling.
Harley Race vs. Brock Lesnar I really like Brock but his career was too short and Harley is a legend of NWA.

I mean HBK did get one hell of a soft draw and it looks like he's a good bet for the final four. His inevitable matchup in the regional semis against Steamboat should pretty much decide that region. I'll still have to decide between now and then on how I'll vote on that one.
