Couple months? No way. I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually lasted until 2024.

It would make the most sense and what I'm hoping for. I'm just half expecting the EVPs to **** this up somehow. The main event scene is a massive joke right now anyway. Mox was supposed to go on vacation a month ago, but can't, b/c there's hardly anyone else.

Maybe AEW should create a stable of good guy comedy jobbers led by Action Andretti that MJF could defeat one by one à la Hogan v. Dungeon of Doom.

Why the EVP hate? I love Kenny and the Bucks.

Also, Mox has been on record saying he didn’t even want to take vacation. It would’ve been a storyline thing, but obviously things have changed. Given his demons, I’m sure the guy would rather be working. Additionally, it sounds like Mox has some sort of EVP status after his contract extension/renewal.

I like Kenny and the Bucks a lot in the ring, just don't think that active wrestlers should be in such a position of power behind the scenes.

So no specific beef with how they’ve run it, you just aren’t comfortable with the idea? No hate, just asking for clarification.

I haven’t seen any sort of issue with them pushing themselves into a position they don’t belong in. In fact, they spent the entire first year (when they had the most creative control) actively NOT putting themselves in the top positions.

We also know that after that first year, TK specifically took the creative reins and the EVPs now have less influence than before. I think some people really over-inflate the importance of EVP status.

More the latter, although I tend to side with Punk on the EVP feud. I think he's likely tough to work with, but I'm still sad to see him go. The Main Event picture was starting to take shape, but now it's a big void and I'm not a Mox fan and he's been shoved in our faces non-stop these past few weeks.

Anyway, my stance on the EVPs is probably unreasonable and I'm sure you know more about the backstage inner workings so I'm willing to give them another chance.

During Rampage I saw a sign that simply said "Where is Miro?". It's a great question.

Miro has said (paraphrasing): "I'm not hurt. Tony has his favorites and I'm not being booked right now.".

Good god

Imagine having Miro and not using him but devoting half a year to that American Top Team BS with Paige Van Zant, Junior Dos Santos, etc. and all you got out of it were the worst segments on TV for months running, the worst match on their respective PPVs, and now none of them are even in AEW anymore.

wtf was that Swerve segment

I d/l'ed and went back and watched cause I could see it live. I skipped that segment. Now I think I made the right choice.

Opening 45 and Main Event were good, middle had some bizarre stuff. Anything involving The Firm/Stokely is guaranteed to be terrible. The Swerve/Lee fallout I would've thought would be gold, but they've managed to F that up with this Ross + Swerve + jobbers faction.

So Aubrey Edwards tells the other ref that Bowens had a foot on the rope and the match resumes. Doesn't this set a stupid precedent in kayfabe? Surely another official must have seen MJF use the brass knuckles to win the belt?

AEW was in her hometown so they wanted to make her a big deal in a consequential match

I thought that Dusty finish was done to perfection. All the refs were already at ringside to stop Satnam from interfering so it was easy to see why she'd say something even if it wasn't her match.

Good start to the year and next week's Dynamite looks like a 2 hour PPV card. Hopefully they keep the momentum going!

Mox-Hangman feud has been solid.
MJF was great again, thought Danielson was a bit underwhelming, but that match should be incredible if it happens.

Next week's show is also in The Forum in LA which should have a special feeling.

Somehow they actually lost 12k viewers from last week. It was a great show, though.

This Dynamite Card is incredible:

The Elite/Death Triangle Match 7 Ladder Match - OK, we're sick of this series, but I'm a big mark for ladder matches and I'm sure these two teams have something cool planned.

Mox v. Hangman - I've really liked the build for this one

Danielson v. Takeshita - Could be a MOTY candidate if they're given time to flesh out the match a bit

Hayter/Baker v. Saraya/Storm - There have been rumors about Saraya's potential partners, so it may not even be Storm.

And then we get...

Big Bill/Moriarty v. Junglehook - Not sure why they didn't just go with another elite match since the rest of the card is stacked. I've hated anything Stokely's involved in and this is no exception, and enough with the silly nicknames like Junglehook (Big Bill is a stupid name too).

Anyway, it's a PPV caliber card. I think the Match 7 and Danielson matches are almost guaranteed 9+/10 matches. Mox/Hangman could be elite too. Women's match will probably be underwhelming b/c I think Hayter is the only elite worker in there (Storm can be, but hasn't had a good AEW match yet), there is potential for a yuge surprise though.
