Yeah, yeah, I know I'm beat on 7th... Yeah, yeah, I know I'm beat on 7th...

...but Jeez, what can I do? He bricks twice, still calls twice, then obviously, SO obviously, hits a wheel on 7th and I cannot help but call just to confirm that my good run of cards is well and truly at its end. Then he berates me for playing it so aggressively!! What a carcrash, or carcrazz, if you will.

My PokerStars dalliance has begun badly, readers...

Or have I made an error on 4th by capping it to the extent that he is priced into calling almost anything all the way to 7th?

Man, I hate Razz.

No, I love Razz.

Oh I don't know anymore...

When someone at this level raises 4th with this kind of board, I just call even with my own wheel draw. Also, I've had them bluff the river with boards this good when they had pairs or K hi. Yesterday some guy raised 6th and jammed 7th with an 8 hi at 3/6.

I don't think this went badly - just razzily.

This situation on 4th is different than most hands because it's multiway. Seat 6 could easily be raising with an 8 (or worse) in the hole in an effort to get the hand HU. I wouldn't slow down at all on 4th, but of course the river is another story. After those fireworks on 4th st, do you really expect to get called if he only has a T low? Even if he spiked as bad as an 85 he may raise given your board.

Here, I converted this to post in another forum and I'm still pissed at myself for value-betting the river - this is why I like check/calling most of the time:

I actually bet here because of some discussion here -

I think I'll go back to just liking my own game and doing it my way. I knew when he checked he'd made that 7. I think the only reason he didn't raise was because he couldn't believe I'd bet an 8 into his board and thought I must have made a 6.

Check/calling the river is a good thing when your opponent can easily outdraw you.

Wouldn't it be better to just call the re-raise on 4th and preserve his illusion?

Ugh on 7th after getting called called cold from 4th on. Are they REALLY both loose enough to call with a worse 8 than you have, when you bet out?

Also, I don't think I would scream wheel draw on 3rd, especially with 5-8 low cards (at least four of which you need) gone. But, maybe smooth-calling cold screams "low babies!" as well...
