If you think any pots end early, you haven't played low limit stud...

If you think any pots go past 4th street, you didn't play the 1-5 no ante game at the Mirage. I once sat it out of curiosity. I was waiting for a seat in the game back in the corner. It was the closest I've ever come to shooting myself.

20 years later, I still see some of those 1-5 players. They're at the 4-8 o8 tables at the Orleans.

No, I never played any no ante games, but I'm still surprised it was tight. I have seen 2/4 limit games in LA where they drop the whole ante, and they still will have 5 or 6 people go all the way often.

4/8 stud8: 0.25 ante, 1 bringin.
house drop is antes plus one dollar bringin

a few occasion they will play no-structure stud8 (the big game)
spread limit 2-10
1$ante $2 bringin
housedrop$4
Some holes missing in the above information ...

Monday and Friday there is a $2-10 Spread Limit Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Hoggie game which starts at 11am

Jacks-or-better to qualify for the high, if you scoop the pot for $100+ then there is an automatic $10 kill the next hand. $1 ante, $2 bring-in, $2-20 betting limits on seventh street, no Bad Beat bonus.

Suncoast also spreads $4-8 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and sometimes the weekend ... $1 ante though (not 25cents) and qualifies for the Bad Beat bonus too.

The crowd is generally older then average, but what else would you expect at $4-8 Stud-8 at a casino that isn't located on the Strip?

Do they still go? I'll look for them the next time I'm in LA. They are like catnip to me, or, depending on your taste in metaphors, crack. Full disclosure: I have never booked a win in any game where I could see another card for $2.

Pretty sure I have seen them at Bicycle within the last year. Just call first to check.

If they have 2-4 Stud at the Bike, what possible excuse could they have for not featuring it on LATB? I'll ask my poker coach, Limon's Dad, to exert his influence in this matter.

Not sure if the Bike's software could show all the upcards, or if they would even fit on the screen. Or if the players could walk all the way to the other side of the room to play on the TV table

Why was it no ante? Sounds pretty horrible, and hardly surprising that it was played tight. As it's pretty correct.

If there's one thing you can count on live low limit players to do, it's play correctly

That's not entirely true. They had one going for a while, but it died out in May and hasn't run since. There's a group of us trying to get one going for Saturday mornings and the room is really trying to advertise it but it's been a rough go. We managed to have it run two weekends ago but it died out after 90 minutes or so. When it did run it was 2-10 spread limit.

I haven't really been back there since then but I'll keep trying it. The floor on Saturday mornings, I think her name is Olivia?, really likes Stud and is trying her best to get it to run, but the interest is just not there.

Play 3 day at suncoast to figure out what's going on.
Monday 2-10 spread.
High qualifier is pair of jacks. Low is 8.
If no hi no Lo qualify then chop. If only a Lo (like a 87) and there is no hi (like only a pair of ten) then the Lo hand scoop.
There is a $10 mandatory straddle (they call it hoggie) for scoops more than 100$.
Tuesday there is hi Lo regular. 2-10 as well
Wednesday is 4/8 eight and jacks.

Supposedly last Tuesday of the month there is a hundred dollar buyin tourney. Didn't run in December because the lady floor is not here.
Both eight /jacks and regular is hi card bring in.
Maybe one person on the whole table is winning player (name is Alan, long hair). All other players play their third street as their best street played. Most players don't play short. The game start around 10-11 and last about 2-3 hours. Tuesday May last longer.

Kind of off-topic, but with having a chop when no hi or lo qualify seems pretty interesting, and that it would make for some interesting river bluffing spots. Do you get situations where someone debates hero-calling the river just to try and get a chop when neither qualify?
Stud games in Vegas Quote

Yeah there is some situations.
I forget to mention, the seven street is 2-20 spread.
So in one hand I have a 87 low, pot is only10$. And on river player bets 20. He might have a 86 low or he miss. Or he bet two pair.
Put 20 looking for a chop 10 and I have to be right most of the time to make profit. Sometimes first one bet 20 will win

Best thing to do is to look on Bravo, or to call the rooms when you get there.

Suncoast isn't on Bravo, but the number at the poker room is 702-636-7111. They've been pretty helpful when I've called them.

Some (most?) weekend days there is a 30/60 stud high game at Bellagio, but it is not strong. Went shorthanded for awhile this week on both Friday and Saturday.

I live 15mins away short trip. For the first time I noticed that the valet checks a box if you tip on the way in, (I give $1 in, $2 out.) It was clear as he had my card/name ready then I pulled out a $1 Bell chip late, and he pulled out his card and marked some box.

Lasted the whole night, even played HU until I busted a guy, just after I busted David Singer (he rand bad, all the solid players did.) I had a crazy swing, stuck 35bets to leaving stuck 12 bets when it got shorthanded.

Ratio: 5/3 all night.

I made a 7-card spade flush, K high, 5-ways to 4th, multiple bets and players on 5th, and vs two on the river who had boards of xxKJxx and xxKJxx, without a single out, I lost to JJJKK. (read that again.)
