Stud 8- What Adjustments To Make? Stud 8- What Adjustments To Make?

Here you are presented with 3 Stud 8 games...

3/6 Ante 0.25 Bring-In 1.00

3/6 Ante 0.50 Bring-In 1.00

3/6 Ante 1.00 Bring-In 1.50

Same rake structure.

All games are 8 handed. What 3rd street adjustments do you make in terms of hand selection?

If the games are loose-passive which one do you prefer to play? What about tight-aggressive games?

The higher the ante the looser you should play

I guess - if the $1 ante game is tight then it would pay to open up and get in a lot of pots - if .25 ante is L/P then you can wait for big hands and get paid by the stations

me thinks.

I don't adjust the hands I play much according to structure. In stud/8, the bottom line is that you usually have to show down the best hand in order to win. If the game is on the tight side, I might try to steal a bit more in the higher-ante games. The problem with stealing in that last game is that the bring-in is already half-in, and he usually has a good card on board. Does that last structure actually exist?

If people are gambling, I love the first structure. That middle structure is much more conducive to gambling, and I think it's the best structure for this limit. And if it pisses off the nits who infest this forum, so much the better. I don't play in tight-aggressive stud/8 games.
