Razz Hand - Need some help Razz Hand - Need some help

I tried putting this hand through the converter, but kept getting an invalid conversion message. At any rate, I recently played this hand, and I had some trouble with it. I'm wondering if at 5th street with me showing a 9 and A,8,6 dead if I should have folded to the raise. Also, if I didn't fold, on the next street, another 6 becomes dead. And I get pait. Should I have folded there or should I just continue to draw hoping I'm not dead at 7th?

Thanks,

Ian

Thanks, Alchemist.

Hmmmm. So, you complete and he calls. You can't assume from his call that he doesn't have a three-card 8. No one is likely to be raising there unless they have you pegged as a bricker.

Note that when you check/raise him, he just calls. But he does call. He sees he is behind a good 7 draw, and he will now believe you have a 7 and three wheels, because you check/raised. You don't know what he has in the hole, so you are at an information disadvantage.

So, I'm sort of curious about why you are raising with the worst hand? With your opponent showing what is likely a made 8, and possibly a better draw than you have, I'm puzzled by your eagerness to shove in money.

So, you made the pot so big on 5th you had to call 6th, I guess, but not folding the river is really being in serious Razz-River denial! You told him what your hand was on 4th and he is betting at you. It's ok to lose, ok to fold.

> At this point against two random cards I believe I was 80% favored to win. Granted, they weren't totally random cards because they were selected to play by my opponent, but my thinking was I was going to catch a card on the draw by 7th that would more than justify getting money into the pot. Was this thinking wrong? I'm not sure. 6th street--I'm thinking I should have just called. And 7th, I agree I should have just gotten out--that's good advice.

Not quite.

and that's the number for 2 random hole cards that haven't paired him.

If he's got a made hand you're a pretty big dog.

You've got enough equity to call on 5th (calling 1 bet to win the almost 5 currently in there). If played that way 6th is close (as played calling is a no brainer) and fold the river.

From the play on 5th at these stakes, it's highly unlikely you're against 2 random cards as you say.

I would call 5th and 6th and easily fold 7th.
