Villain's new. No read.

$3/$6 Limit Razz $0.25 Ante - 3 players

3rd Street: (0.25 SB)
Seat 2: xx xx 7____Seat 2 raises____Seat 2 caps!
Hero: A 2 7___Hero 3-bets___Hero calls
Seat 8: xx xx T____Seat 8 brings in for $1____Seat 8 folds

He clearly likes his 7 so there's more value in deception than capping.

4th Street: (6.583 SB) (2 players)
Seat 2: xx xx 7 K____Seat 2 calls
Hero: A 2 7 3___Hero bets

5th Street: (4.292 BB) (2 players)
Seat 2: xx xx 7 K 5____Seat 2 calls
Hero: A 2 7 3 8___Hero bets

6th Street: (6.292 BB) (2 players)
Seat 2: xx xx 7 K 5 Q____Seat 2 calls
Hero: A 2 7 3 8 5___Hero bets

7th Street: (8.292 BB) (2 players)
Seat 2: xx xx 7 K 5 Q xx____Seat 2
Hero: A 2 7 3 8 5 3___Hero ???

Bet and hope he calls. No reason to think he's made anything he'd bet, but people find all kinds of reasons to call river bets in big pots.

Occasionally he'll make his Seven and raise, so you get to Three him and expect a call.

He may have loved his 7 on 3rd street but you still have no reason/data to believe that villain will take the bait on the end so you lose too much value by attempting a checkraise because you just don't know what he's capable of or not capable of or what he thinks you're capable of or not capable of, which, is what the checkraise play is all about. But, because he may want to see how you play, and because maybe the pot is too big to fold, whatever...maybe he looks you up light this time.

Against unknowns, I think the value comes from taking the sure(er) thing. Bet the river.

I would almost agree with electrical but the fact that you have 3578 up will convince most villains you have an 8 at worse and not call anything worse than an 8 on 7th.

That being said, when he bricks you win no bet, when he hits he'll bet all his 8s since it's gonna be a smooth 578 most of the time and you can c/r. I like c/r here unless villain is a total station and will call with 9s/10s on the river.

even if he does bet/call all 8s or just call if you donk, he should probably raise all 7s and calling w/ 9s and Ts should > bluffing when he completely misses, so bet/3-bet is better.

I generally agree with what was written here, mainly because the possibility of having my bet raised, although unlikely, is quite the EV bonanza.

Great feedback! Thank you!

I would check/raise. I don't think he'll call with 9s or Ts versus our board and he'll bet everything he's calling with imo.

So what camz said
