I don't get what you were trying to do by raising 4th? Did you think seat 7 would fold?

fold 4th here? You are looking to trip up or hit a nice low diamond, not a high unsuited 8.

EDIT: Get in cheap get out cheap imo

Fold 4th, your hand is weak for both high and low... Your raise is really atrocious in this scenario after your opponent catches perfect.

I think that raising on the turn has its merits, and I do think that raising is better than calling. But, I also think that folding on 3rd is better than limping, esp. with a limper, a dead 4, and the Ace behind you.

This guy plays good.

Fold 3rd, as played raise 4th, obv fold when it's 2 back to you. Seems standard to me except the over-limp on 3rd with that dead 4.

On second thoughts - I don't hate the limp that much b/c we get to take it down on 4th a decent amount of the time and the antes are pretty big.

You could also fold 4th. Meh, you could play this any way - I dunno. I'd prob fold 3rd with the dead 4 and the Ace behind.

But what do you think in a tournament, where it's limped to you ?

The antes are big - i.e. there's over 1bb of dead money, and you call hoping to outflop the (hopefully) only other caller ?

We do get over 7:1 on a limp (assuming all goes well and the Ace kindly folds).

I don't play enough stud 8 tournaments
But it depends on stack size, how late in the tournament it is, how many places pay... etc...

Yeah - It depends a lot on the player with the Ace aswell. If he's gonna make our life miserable then folding is definitely best, but otherwise I think a limp is +cEV b/c we get 7:1 to play some small-ball style. That, and our hand has enough equity to play some other 4th street spots.

Third and fourth are both easy folds.
