So I won 10k Euro in Italy at a casino in Venice. Me and my GF were playing video poker to wait for a Blackjack table to open, and she accidentally pushed bet all for like 10 euro. We naturally end up hitting a royal flush when she almost saved the 4 flush instead of the 3 to the royal. Nice 20000 credit score = 10k Euro, which means I'm very happy

I'm not up on video poker strategy. Is drawing two to a royal preferable to drawing one to a flush? I don't know what the payouts are (and they vary from machine to machine, right?), or I'd figure it out myself.

I think flush payed 6 to 1, royal payed like 500 to 1.

Oh, and it was joker poker, since that's all they had. And we somehow hit the natural royal. It was the most surreal hit of all time.

Doesn't have strategy for joker poker but 3 to a royal > 4 to a flush in both jacks or better and deuces wild (3 to a royal crushes it in 2's wild) UNLESS:

4 to a flush beats 3 to a royal if royal includes a ten and ace, and the unsuited card is a 10 or straight penalty card. Knowing this exception will add 0.00000021 to the game return.

So if your GF threw away a paint, she made a terrible, terrible mistake...!!!!

That's my june. Been slacking a bit in terms of number of hands, but on the plus side I did finish making 2 different items of children's furniture this month, and I'm currently ripping up the floor upstairs to put in all kinds of crazy wiring, and doing some storage projects upstairs. I'm also working my regular job and moonlighting in two different contracts. It's been busy this last few months. Anyway, stud8 and razz have been Treating Me Right.

I actually looked back over my stats for the whole year so far and was a little shocked at how much I've made in stud games (this is because I played a lot of horse and lost money in the holdem and omaha rounds, so I didn't actually make a ton of profit off it. If the games were RSE, though......)

Edit: I just noticed that about $180 of the above came from chasing/targetting 2 players in particular, huge Tilt Monsters. One of them is the one that, I think, called Davdob a robot (maybe it was someone else, can't remember now). He was lolbad, although I don't think I made a ton off him, he tilted the whole table. The other player, I made a ton of him/her. I made a huge effort this month to only play when the tables were good.
