At the time, the 2 players just checked and accepted the up cards, but it had the table wondering. Especially since nobody could recall ever seeing this particular error before.

If both cards are up, play continues with a betting round.
If the first card is dealt face up, and the error is realized, you deal the second card face up and continue with the betting round.
If the first card is dealt down and the second one is dealt face up, there is no more betting.
I have seen one other variation in a 3 way pot at the Golden Nugget in a tournament and I'm not sure if it was specific to their room, because it was a tournament, or how its always done more than HU, but it was as follows:
3 way on 7th, first card is dealt face up and the error is realized. The next two players are dealt face down and the betting round continues except that the first player is considered all in.
