Villain had a 6-5, and actually went in the tank after I raised. He can't possibly have been thinking about folding a 6-5, but can he possibly be thinking of raising?

Dr. Gibson is referring to my 83-7 open fold. I think I nearly timed out, as I was multitabling and I had to take a screen shot. With all my pairs live, the 2,4, dead, and 3 better babies to act behind plus a player sitting with LESS that ONE BIG BET. My folding equity has diminished and I elected to fold.

If it is a mistake, I cannot be a big one, and I would like to hear the Docs reasoning to why it is.

We all took turns as you had to re-buy to $600 four times that night, and then proceed directly to the felt. Why would you ever sit with less than 16 big bets is beyond me.

I would call it a completely standard fold.

Anyway, attributing your fold to himself there is kinda... weird? There were lots of small cards to go through.

He's the one attributing the fold to himself, not me.

I folded for the factors I stated in order, and yes, I agree, near standard. However, you do have to take in consideration what you can get away with post 3rd. When there is short stacks (or in this case, micro-stacks) involved in such hands, your post-3rd folding equity will be heavily diminished multi-way as the hand will be bound for a showdown when they are all-in.

So as not to anger to LC gods, I will start a different thread to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of open folding this hand. I merely wanted to point out in this thread that if you're going to save and mount a trophy fish on your wall, you shouldn't put a plaque that says "16 lbs, 4 oz." under a 3 pounder.

I didn't realize we were coming up with pet names for each other. I usually insist on a lot more wining and dining first.

I rarely sit with less than 20, but rebought for 10 that night because it was incredibly late and it looked like you sat specifically to take a shot at me. I didn't want to deny you the chance. If you want to learn more about reasons for short stacking razz cash games, I dunno -- ask spoon?

All respect, I would be very interested in what you have to say about the hand if you have time. Seriously.

But I'm sorry, sitting w/$45 to start a hand in a 30/60 game has got to be bigger than 3lbs for a (Largemouth). (sorry, you set yourself up for this one, I couldnt resist.)

I was just trying to give you a nickname, I kinda like it. You know what people say: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=370. And as for the story behind my nick, it was given to me a close to 20 years ago, and anyone who has met me understands quickly.

I would not sit to take a 'shot' at you, there are better spots every day. I dabble in there when the game is good. And that game was good, you cannot deny me that!

QFT. I "took a shot" at ifish last night for about 125 hands (30/60 Razz). Wouldn't you know it, we both ended up winners. Must be that the game was good.

Now that was at least funny I don't make a habit of sitting with a short stack, tho I will do it occasionally to brush up on push/fold decisions that may come up in tourneys. In this case, I just wasn't quick enough on the "sit out" button after losing the previous pot IIRC.

ldo! Why do you think I was playing in the middle of the night?
02-09-2009 , 07:11 PM
I think we need some Stud forum wells. I recommend Ceegee or Rusty or Andy, unless said people have done wells before my time.
02-09-2009 , 07:12 PM
I did it a few months ago.
02-09-2009 , 07:19 PM
errr I call for a stickied link to popular wells on the front page!

Please. This was the 3rd time you were near-felted in the session. Rebuying to $600 and going to $0 each time.

Such the example or your starting stacks:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($486)
next hand:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($241)
next hand:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($0), is sitting out
SGspecial adds $600
SGspecial has returned
few hands later:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($500)
few hands after that:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($415)
next hand:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($230)
next hand:
Seat 3: SGspecial ($45)

i agree that we should do SOMETHING with a sticky. i mean i know we know where to find most of the threads were looking for, but a sticky with least busto thread links in it could be good no!? well threads, lc threads, some strat threads. these are all nice to revisit from time to time

hit the well andy
