I learned long ago, never to raise a razz player. You get dirty, and besides, the razz player likes it.

all forms of gambling have way more luck than skill. that's why in hold'em 6max you stand to make .25-1BB an hour + or - 20BBs, and in blackjack its way more brutal of a mean-std dev spread. but yeah, as compared to the other games, razz is a lot less complex and remembering the importance of not drawing rough against smooth boards and being live alone will probably make you a break-even player.

std deviation in nowadays razz games range from 15-20bb/100. that's still not much. HU games tend to have less. all numbers connected with variance depend on the winrate btw.
