To correct my previous message: We should have these tables available at the
lobby, and we are looking at a possible technical problem.

Our apologies for the possible inconvenience.

It appears it is not a technical problem:

Thank you for your email. We appreciate your interest in our high limit Stud games. However, a Management decision was recently made to remove stud games (high, hi/lo, razz) with limits of $50/$100 and higher. The higher limit stud games had only rarely run, and it was felt that the mid-limit games were suffering as a result of breaking up the demand. It is hoped that this change will create more interest in our $30/$60 and lower games, and help build the player base for Stud in general. Management will be closely monitoring these games. I will make sure to inform them of your interest in playing higher limit stud games.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. We're here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I can understand this for Stud Hi, although it was fun to periodically chunk off some black chips to random Chinese guys.

The Stud 8 games have gone a lot though. I guess they were kind of dead recently but that's probably cyclical. There is plenty of interesting in that game at that limit.

The stud8 games ran pretty often. Its probably just doesn't benefit stars to spread these games in the long run.

The structure was already terrible compared to the FTP games, so w/e.

It wouldn't just be a w/e if you'd played when 2 tables of 1-2 were running all the time a couple of months ago.

Does FTP stud8 ever run? I'm on euro time so I may have missed some but I've never seen anything higher than 20-40.

I never play that high, at least not yet, but, I have a question? Why the gap between 10-20 and 30-60? Now that they have eliminated higher denominations maybe they should bring in something between those two levels. It would help those of us that may want to gradually work our way up someday, maybe. So, 20-40 would be nice?

$20/40 is close enough to both $10/20 and $30/60 that it would tend to draw players from both, which would tend to result in all limits drying up since the player bases for all three games are pretty small to begin with. What I think they should do is get rid of $5/10 and $10/20 and replace them with $6/12 and $15/30. Better structures and not so large a gap between limits.

Since I'm down at the 25-50 cent to 1-2 dollar level it isn't urgent, but, if you take the 300 Bb rule for a bankroll then it gets bad. 10-20 would be what, $6000, but, 30-60 is 18,000? So, in your scenario I don't think it is as bad. 6-12 at 3600, moving up to 15-30, 9000, and then maxing out at 30-60. It's still a jump to the 30-60 but, only 100% increase instead of 200% in a 300 Bb bankroll. So, your idea would help a lot. Did the 100-200 players keep 60k online?

Your bankroll does not need to be 100% online, the "need" for a 300bb bankroll doesn't mean you're going to need it all Today. It's just money you would be able to get back in the game with if you dropped 50bb a couple times in a few weeks, you know?

In razz the structures are terrible (low ante) up to 10/20, but the 30/60 is the same as on FTP. The 50/100 tables were a good structure too, but they were up for a whole 17 minutes.

I think that if your bankroll is, say $10,000, and your choices are $10/20 and $30/60, you should probably take selected shots at $30/60 while keeping $10/20 your regular game. Once you're pumped up enough, $30/60 can be your regular game. Assuming you're a winning player, you're probably costing yourself too much by waiting until you have the full $18,000 before you ever venture into the $30/60 game. This is especially true in stud/8 on Stars where the $30/60 game is probably juicier than the $10/20.

Watched Tom McEvoy play 30-60 this morning on stars, mostly with chineese players, not sure I'd call that juicy. Who are these Chineese? Tom was winning I think.

That makes more sense, 50Bb plus money, ready, earning interest somewhere, behind that. But, since they have done away with the higher stakes then I think they should make it an easier climb from down here at .50-1.00 to 30-60 than jumping from 10-20 to 30-60. 50 Bb * 20 is only a thousand, with a 200% increase to go to the 30-60. They could also put some Pot Limit Stud into the mix.
