Obv just because you make yourself exploitable, doesn't mean the average opponent is gonna figure out how to exploit you. But even relatively fishy opposition will eventually catch on that when someone with split AA raises you fold your split KK, so they will start r/ring (56)A rain.

haha

yeah i just dont think i find myself in this situation a ton really as it is. whats the cut off at the table for completing kk or anything through an a ( with no other a showing )?

obviously im not on auto complete fold either, but generally im at least completing, and if i get raised and call im ok seeing what develops by 5th. i do want to look at my pts tho and see how kings have fared. right now i just prefer completing to folding. looks like its not the preferred way so ill keep that in the front of my head for a while as i play, thanks.

I played a hand in the WSOP $1.5K stud8 event where Jesus (Ferguson) raised with a K. I reraised with split aces. I caght (3A)A4T5 against (xx)K6J6. He called me 4th and 5th. Check/check with kings up on 6th. On the river, I made aces up, bet and he called.

you are definitely losing money playing like this. you're supposed to fold Kings against something like XX2A on 4th street, anyway, if he catches an Ace, let alone starts with one... seeing what happens by 5th is not a good strategy.

Yea basically when an A is out Kings are like queens are like Jacks etc. Theres just not a big difference in these pairs vs an ace. With an A behind you folding is almost never a bad idea. You are going to be in so many sticky spots and things have to go really good for you to make it too far with these hands, especially since there is usually another low draw playing as well as the ace. Limping is no good as you are basically saying I have split K's but Im deathly afraid so please raise me and make my life miserable. Point is picture pairs in stud 8 should only be played in optimal situations. When you have kk2 and you have a few low cards behind you and an ace is not one of those times. Learn to muck these hands and save yourself aggravation and money.
