My copy of 7CSFAP arrived today, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I thought I was a solidish rec player, but I'm learning a ton.

Backstory - I'm playing the $1'500 horse this year, first ever WSOP and I can't wait. Been playing as much mixed games (cash/MTTs) as possible. A lot of the concepts are related to cash games, but I think a lot of could be applied to tournament, especially in earlier stages.For extra run good, I also bought Ray's high-lo split book.

good luck on your endeavor. if you can eliminate a weak game by getting good at it your chances will go up dramatically.
play extra tight in your weak games and weather through them rather than making mistakes that are more costly than playing too tight which is hard to do.

They have BOTH kinds of high-lo split in a HORSEament, so Ray's other book was probly a good investment too. Good luck as well sir! I agree in principle that playing tight in your weak games is a good idea, but the WSOP structures usually make that an expensive strategy.

Enjoy! Did that two years ago and had a blast. Watch out for the hi-lo games at any given level they are far more costly than the other games. Also determine the weakest games of your opponents it will provide some of your best chances to increase your stack. In general their weakest game is RAZZ.
