6 handed: no relevant cards dead

Il bruto opens with 6 up first to act, BluffMeNot calls with 8 up right after, I call in BI with (44)2.

On 4th the boards are
BluffMeNot: (xx)8d5d
Il Bruto: (xx)6xTx
Me (44)24

BMN leads, I raise, Il Bruto calls two cold, BMN calls. Note: Il Bruto is reasonably loose, but not entirely crazy. He probably has at worst a decent 3 low, although he can come along with some weird hands occasionally.

On 5th it goes
BMN (xx) 8d 5d 8x
Il Bruto: (xx)6xTx6x
Me (44)24J

BMN leads, I raise (?) Il bruto 3bets, BMN 4bets. Must call? Fold?

I wanna fold 3rd. On 5th I like your raise and then I fold to the 4-bet. I just can't see how BMN could not have you beaten. If he has some combo draw he should put more action in on 4th and with a high pair in the hole he should reraise on 3rd. It would be suicidal for him to 4-bet here with a random 2-pair, Il Bruto is spazzy but he's got to have at least 2-pair here.

I think you should fold to the four bet - The only hands BMN could have, which you beat, would be like 678 and the six has popped out making it more unlikely.

Anothere way to look at it which (I think?) is valid - is that your chances of winning against two paired doorcards decrease geometrically but your odds are only increasing linearly. If someone knows why that makes no sense, then please point it out.

It's a little confusing because you've listed your hand last even though you're acting second. Anyway, it's apparent that you're in third place. I think you have to call one more bet for the size of the pot, but if you haven't filled and they jam on sixth, get out.

I'm no expert at stud/8 but I think there's a 2% chance you're in 3rd place for high. Your hand doesn't look like trip 4's at all here and BMN will show up with 8's and a low draw or 8's and 5's way more often than trips. Sure looks like he wants you to fold your supposed low draw. OTOH Bruto's cold 3-bet should worry you a lot. If BMN has a low draw then your in 3rd place equity wise, but still have about 20% if Bruto has trips.

OK, then you have the third-street action wrong. I think you have to fold if it's two bets to you.
