I still have yet to have any problems with smoke.

I think the only issue with smoke is if you are located in the last tables in the old area towards the casiers cage.

This place is pretty juicy. Sat down at a 1/2 table filled with calling stations. Anytime they bet preflop and you raised them 90% of the time they would flat call and then check if they missed on the flop. One guy no matter what if it checked around to him he would bet under 10 if he had nothing or would check if he had a real hand. If you play long enough with the same group of people there you can make a real profitable trip.

Try giving them a call. I'm sure they can give you all the info you need.

Depends on where you sit, in the old section, especially as you get closer to the slots, it's pretty bad. On very busy nights, I have left there smelling like I was smoking all night if I'm at one of the "old" section tables.

Depends when you arrive. They'll have a couple tables running and will pick up more steam throughout the morning. I've had great 1/2 & 2/5 tables there during the day midweek, lots of players that think they're good but aren't.

When you get seated, just ask for the "non-smoking" section and they will seat you in the new section of the room away from smoke.

If you sit down at the poker table it takes no time at all. They have runners that will get you one.

Let's say you play the $30 and decide to bet $5 and leaves you with $25 left on the machine.. and let's say you win $60 on the 1st spin. You can cash the $60 win out right away, but you still have to play the $25 you have left on the machine. It won't let you cash out non-wagered credits.

I think it's getting to be about time they add even more than 23 tables, Sands is really starting to take precedence over a lot of Casinos according to a lot of people. Sadly, I think some guy tried to hustle me out of a pot last night, it wasn't even that big, but I'm not 100% sure if he's either just that stupid, or was just trying to conniver his way into winning a pot... pretty pathetic IMO. Just goes to show sometimes you can't trust anyone when you try to be friendly to them.

Last night's rumor was if Cobalt doesn't renew its lease that will be the poker room. Also, still no word on tournaments- although the consensus is 1 tournament at about 11 am ever weekday. Lots of previous dealers are now late night floors - expansion probably is in the works.

Recent pet peeve - I'm a 1-2 player - do the higher limit NL players ever shut up? I've never heard so much over analyzing , "how could he call with that" and general whining in my life!! It goes on and on and on.... Shut up and move on already!!

The area where Cobalt is would be a good reloaction for the poker room, with some work...being closed off/smoke free, less noise etc...

Cbbbcbbc ebb
Back in the Fall i asked about when tournaments are coming, they said December...i asked again in Dec., they said Feb...And now we're still waiting. Like someone else stated, I just don't think tourneys are a big priority for them atm...they make far more off cash games; Tourneys are probably just more hassle than they're worth.

I play higher stakes btw, and regarding your pet peeve, I actually notice it more from the lower stakes players...but that could just be me

I was just on the sands website and they are heavily promoting the hotel which is opening in May. Looks like starting rates will be $149 for Sunday-Thursday and $219 for Friday and Saturday. No mention of player rates anywhere on the site but I would think you'd have to figure that discounted/free promotions will appear eventually.

I haven't heard any questions or comments on here about room rates but I figured that I would take the liberty to spread the word...Thursday's are slow days at work and I felt like typing.

Is the 5-5 game any good? My 2-5 table broke up yesterday at around midnight first time there.

I made it to the Sands for the first time in about a month on Friday night. I am usually just a lowly 3/6 HE player, but it surprised me that on a Friday night at 9 p.m., the only LHE game in the room was 7-handed. I know LHE is dying and it sucks, but it still surprised me that on a Friday night, there wasn't enough LHE players to keep one table full. I played 8-9 handed for a hew hours before the table broke and I went over to 1/2 NLHE and ran QQ into AA and got the worst of set over set within one orbit.

Bad beat was hit today for about $130k when I was there. A guy who was playing just to my left got up from out 2/5 table and wound up on the 5/10 NL table where it was hit. Straight flush over straight flush. Guy who lost the hand won $66k...he was at the table the last time the BB jackpot hit and won over $4k. Sick. And this time he won it on the very first hand he played at the table. Unreal.

I was there Friday during the day and played 3/6 for about 5-6 hours. The table was pretty much full the whole time. Thats really going to bum me out if the limit game starts to fizzle because I REFUSE to play no limit.
