Don't know what the poker comps are at the V but they've got to be better than the Sands.
I know I'm speaking for myself here, but I think the Sands comp system is fine in my opinion. I play 2-3 times a week for 4-5 hours a session and have not had to pay for any food since the poker room openned. Granted I don't eat everytime I go there, but for the times I do eat it's nice to not have to pay for food. Again just my opinion...

So by that, on your best week you're putting in 15 hours, that's $7.50 in comp. There is a buffet Sunday - Thursday for $6.95, but that's about the only thing in any spot there that's under $10. What / where are you eating?

Dealer talk last night indicated that comps were supposed to go to $1 / hour, a player at my table said MS is only 40c / hour...

Mike, I'm not eating everytime I go there. In fact I'm not even eating once a week. I only live 15 minutes away so I usually don't need to eat due to usually eating before getting there. It's more or less for the nights when I finish and don't feel like cooking anything when I get home. I could see how someone who doesn't have the short trip like I do would have a problem, but like I said at the start of my post.... I am speaking for myself here....

As far as what I eat.... I'm very low maintenece so the $11-$12 burger and fries or cheesesteak and fries is fine for me...

Thinking about making the drive this weekend. Anyone know whether there are cabs easily available? Love to be able to have a few beverages and take a cab back to the local hotal afterwards. Anyone stay at the Hyatt Place across the river? Shuttle service?

Valet will call a cab for you at the front entrance. I've stayed at the Hyatt, Hotel Bethlehem, and Comfort Suites... there is shuttle service only to the airport.

Agreed a $1 comp rate would leave Airy in the dust. They're still doing everything wrong and losing players by the week.

I still can't believe Sands is the only PA casino that has a bus from NYC.

I want to say there were 4 tables empty last night when I was there. The days of lists are long gone until comps improve, tournaments appear and / or more games / options for players me thinks. Should be a nice surge of players next month when Lehigh goes on turkey day break though.

Is the BBJ still huge? Was there on the weekend and it was over $160k. Not that the BBJ is going to impact my choice on going or not, but when it's so big it does make me dream a little. I saw a hand last weekend that missed it by one pip.

I was talking about buses like the Sands where you get your entire bus fare back in slot play.

Although it took a while, I predicted to my friends that 12 tables were plenty until they got tournies running. Most of my friends are limit cash players like myself and my prediction is that the Sands would look like the showboat on a random Tuesday afternoon which is 3-5 $1-$2 NL tables and a $2-$4 Limit table with 2 ppl constantly on the waiting list.

Last night there were actually interest boards for PLO and 5/5, albeit only 2-3 people were on each list, but they were indeed there.

On labour day there were even 4 people on the PLO interest list. Can't wait to sit down and play PLO at the Sands....probably not until next year though.

Last night - arrived at 5 pm - 6 players on 1/2 list, open seating everywhere else

9 tables - 1 - 3/6, 6 - 1/2 NL, 2 - 2/5 NL
BBJ - $178K

They grabbed a few players last night to watch baseball because Cablevision is still not carrying Fox.

Any background on an attractive brunette regular who was crushing a 2/5 table last night? She had $5,000 in chips and not letting anyone see flops for less than $50.

Odd PA SANDS rule - 1-2 NL - heads up - both players are all-in. One player shows the other player one card to show he has a very good hand before making a decision to call. Dealer warns that his hand can be declared dead under PA SANDS house rules - floor confirms rule later. Evidently this rule is unique to PA SANDS and allowed in most other card rooms.

For anyone interested, there is a Chinatown bus departing every hour from Bowery Street in Manhattan (as well as Flushing and Brooklyn). Ticket price is $12, and you get $30 slot play plus a $5 food voucher. This is $16 cheaper than Trans-Bridge from Port Authority.

There is also a Mount Airy bus from Chinatown. A $6 ticket gets you round trip plus $25 slot play and a $5 food voucher.

Return schedules are not as open, so it's best to return on your original bus.

The harrahs properties are enforcing this the same way in AC also.

Well, your prediction is incorrect.

Got there about 20 minutes before you updated that last night tomjoad50 and sat right away.

Again, interest lists were going for PLO and 5/5 but when I left, there still wasn't enough for an actual game. One of the dealers joked that the list is just there to appease a few people and that the chances of PLO actually happening before the expansion is slim to none.
