None of those appeal to me anyway. I'll play $1/2. Thanks!

10/20 O8 No Kill went off at 7PM like planned last night. Started full with waitlist. Had a great variety of new faces as well as old players that came back to play since the game has not gone off in awhile. Really good action and game went until 4AM. Floor did a good job announcing game drawing in new players as well as keeping seats filled when empty. Same game same time next week was the consensus of most of the players...

Don't forget hot seat promo is today and tomorrow 11AM til 10PM. One time in my life hopefully I will win one of these.

There should be a sticky/first post in this thread with updates on games offered, etc...Can someone give a cliff note on what NL games run at Sands? what are the best days? buy-ins, etc.? mostly interested in 2/5+..I assume there is a 5/5/ or 5/10 game? do they run regularly? what are the best days to play? How is the weekend, especially Saturdays? many thanks in advance...

1/2 and 2/5 (200-600) run daily. I think 5/5 (300-1000) runs close to daily, but I'm not positive. 5/10(500-2000) usually runs Friday and Saturday. 10/25 (2500-10000) runs Tuesday and Friday.

Your best best is the Bravo app. I believe the Sands website also tracks games.

Don't forget, tomorrow, Friday at 11AM is the PLO/NLHE split tournament. They change games every half hour or dealer down. It is a 100 + 25 bounty. Hopefully they get a good turnout. They will be holding this tournament the last Friday of every month at same time and same structure for now. Hopefully I can get out of work and see you at table...

We are also going to try to get the 10/20 O8 no kill going again. With the tourney we should have no trouble getting players. Went great last Friday night.

Pretty cool that they are gonna run that weekly but the game shouldn't change on the dealer. It should be every 9 hands....or however many handed the tables are.

Gonna be getting in like 8 PLO hands a round and 15 NL hands.

While that's fine for cash games, isn't it an issue to do this in tournaments? After a while at the same time you'd have half of the tables playing PLO and the other half playing LHE, which could be an issue when players are moved. For example you could be on the last hand of LHE at your table and get moved to another table that is on its first hand of LHE, so you'd be playing 18 hands in a row of LHE.

Good PLO/NLHE tourney yesterday. Field was a little light at 38 entrants but maybe more the next one now that people know it exists. Hopefully Sands can advertise it a little more aggressive as well. They should at least announce its existence at the previous week's tournaments so the players are aware of it. I think for many reasons the 9 hands per game would not work. The ones cockpit stated are just a few. Was depressing how few PLO hands were dealt on that half hour. One round I counted 6 hands dealt in PLO. Will be nice when it transitions to all PLO for the entire tournament.

10/20 O8 went strong again last night. Game started around 5 or 6 and not sure when it broke but was still running full with waitlist at 1AM.

I know Sands offers a discounted room rate, do they give out comped rooms for poker players?

Did anyone else notice if they had the 500. high hand per hour promotion yesterday from 11AM to midnight? I know it is listed on the daily tournament calendar schedule but was there from 6PM to early morning and did not hear any floor or players mention it... There is another scheduled on 10/18, will this happen?? I know customer appreciation week was moved but thought the high hand promo days as well as the splash pot days stayed as advertised.

Davey, what is up with that?

You must be looking at an old calendar. The October calendar was updated after the appreciation week was postponed..and I don't think there are any other promos this month.

Any word as to when the next series of tournaments are to take place?

Will the Sands run another Deepstack series in December like they did last year? I'm pretty sure the main event was a 500k gtd and got some pretty good reviews. Would be smart to make it an annual event.

Looking on bravo periodically I never see any other casino running over 20 tables with not one non hold em game the way Sands does. Really a shame. The player pool is just not there daily to support non hold em games as of now. They did get a 5/5 PLO going yesterday which was a first that I ever saw.

hello friends,
i know this is a lame cliche question but i was wondering in general how the games are, specifically the 2/5 and also what the buyin is for that game. how do they compare to parx or harrahs?

i stopped in one time a few weeks ago and surprisingly it was absolutely jam packed. granted it was a weekend but still was pretty wild to me.

the buy-in for 2/5 is 600 max. The games can be tough at times depending on what game you sit down on since it's usually most of the same tight grinders with a few recreational players mixed in.

They are a bit nittier than Parx. Never played in harrahs.

The sands 5/5 game is about the same as parx 2/5 as it also has a 1000 max with more action and more money on the table.

The games are good. 2-5NL is soft, buy in 600. Depends on table but often not too aggro and lots of fit or fold players. The fish are pretty weak. Plenty of regs but only a few are really good or aggro. Harrahs is softer and quite a bit looser from what I saw in 1 visit. Parx and Borg are somewhat tougher I think due to more aggro players.

5-5, buy in 1000, is somewhat tougher as it attracts some of the better more aggro players. They make plenty of mistakes too though, just different kinds of mistakes. They'll c-bet into too many people and then get married to hands. They barrel too often, and value cut themselves if you take more passive lines with decent hands. Also bet sizing tells abound if you pay attention. It is, however, a tougher game and you'll have to adjust more.

Davey, is the Saturday event going to be a one day event? I only have that one day to play, so that info is very helpful for planning my visit.
